He said technical issues, but I'm not sure why it didn't just land close to where they were. Who knows. The airline called my mom at 2:30AM their time, and she said she almost had a heart attack thinking his flight had crashed.

230am?? Gawd don't you hate that?!? Why did they even call her? Couldn't he have called home himself? His number coming up on caller ID would have been more reassuring.

    No kidding!
They called her bc at that time I guess they were just expecting a route change and delay, and the plane was still in the air so he couldn't call. It's a loooooong flight from here to Boston. It seemed like a nice (though panic-inducing) gesture on AA's part-- my poor mom! He'll hopefully land there safe and sound in about an hour.

He loved the Tacoma; we changed the oil together, haha. He loves his new Subaru more though- his fly rods fit inside, good MPG, he can easily reach the roof for his canoe/kayaks, and it's paid for.

Maybe West Sac is just a place they do bulk sorting. Like a hub or something?

Because it has to go to the main warehouse where all packages go to be sorted first according to which location. Then it goes to the station that has the trucks that deliver to your neighborhood.

I had a vintage bike delivered via FedEx come from Michigan. It went to Roseville and stayed there for ten days. When I called to ask what was up, they told me that I can come get it if I want, that the address label was missing. I refused, figuring I paid for THEM to deliver. I gave them my address again. It started to head BACK to Michigan for some reason and I had to call again to stop it!!

The package arrived damaged, the bike is a total loss. I could not collect insurance even though I BOUGHT IT because I had to prove that the bike was not damaged BEFORE it was packed and since it was a vintage bike, I had no proof. It would have been different if it were new.

So in other words. I had a pretty big loss. It's going to be hard finding another bike like that. :(

I'm having a problem with them too. For some reason my package needed to be signed off, but no one was home so they left me a little post it. I called them today to tell them to go ahead and leave it on my doorstep because no one was going to be home again and they said they can't do it and its up to the discretion of the driver. I was like WTH I order online A LOT and UPS never has a problem leaving stuff at my front door. They said they can't do anything to help me

I believe u can go online and release your package, like it's an automatic approval signature so they always leave it, its mother ups or FedEx that does that I don't remember because I had the same problem with my school books

UPS leaves a notice and you can sign it ahead of time I believe. Its a pain but usually better than just leaving it on your porch.

See if you can find the thesis the FedEx founder wrote (for his MBA-he got low marks for it BTW). Turns out, it's cheaper to send a package from CA across country to a hub, sort it and send it back than to have sorting facilities all over the place.

UPS will let you pick stuff up in West Sac. When you get a notice, tell them to hold it at West Sac and go pick it up.

Could be the sender requires a signature.

My crushed bike made it back to Arizona from Sacto before I caught it and had them send it back.

So it went to Michigan, to Sacto, to Arizona, I called, then back to Sacto and then to me.
