I dont know what the lock ons are, but I have seen the dropper seats. The ones I saw are in the $300-$400 range. I have to do more research on that though

They are new grips that have a hard tube structure that simply slides on your bars with no fuss. Then you use two circular clamps one on each end, and that secures the grip. I have ODI Rogues and I love them since they have a good bit of girth to them. But most seem to like the Ruffian's if not more.

Here is a quick vid ODI Rogue

I just watched the vid and they seem pretty cool. I will check them out on ebay or something.

^^^Nice bike, I have been riding a hard tail since 1995...... it was about time for an upgrade. And just like everything else in life, it's not what you ride it's how you ride!!!!!

Yeah. I would love a nice full suspension bike but this was within my budget. After a new fork and grips and the tires and pedals off my old bike it's a decent bike. Heavy as hell and with 2.35 nevegals front and rear it's quite the workout. Just ordered a new chain and tires tonight. Need something with a little less rolling resistance.

    Yeah.
That was a very patient explanation of my vague post, thank you!

I actually started with the Rogues on one bike and Ruffians on another and for me, my hands got more fatigued with the thicker Rogues. I always wear gloves, though. Can't go wrong either way, it's just personal preference. But the clamp-on grips are great, won't leave you doing an unexpected one-hander in a dicey situation.

I am not sure I will replace the stock grips right now. I might do it after the first season of riding. What is the biggest benefit from swapping them out? Is it comfort, does it relieve your hands? Thanks

For me, the biggest item is comfort. Second, ODI's really do lock onto the bar-no twisting either-secure on the bar.

That is cool, I would like the comfort factor. I would also like the reduction of fatigue. I bet the fact that they don't move would help if the grip didnt slip.

I been ridding for about 7 years, this is the latest pics I took of my bikes 2 years ago, Mob, Prophet and Bullet. I sold the bullet and mob at the end of last summer and used the money to bring my Civic back to life (busted a cylinder) I bought a 2011 Santa Cruz Cameleon with the left over money. [IMG]

yeah the twisting was the biggest thing for me. before lock-ons i would ride and sometimes the grips would almost come off. thats when i made the switch.

Exactly, I picked mine up on Ebay for $25 and it was the full size grips with clamps and end caps so you're not missing anything. Not all the grips come with everything required so look for the bonus packs.
    No problem!
I think forums these days could use more humility and caring. We all deal with crap at work/school what have you, we don't need to add to the mess by being terse.
