URD MAF Calibrator worth it?

I was looking at their site and saw the calibrator. They claim +15whp on a stock engine and good benefits if you combine it with exhaust + CAI. I was wondering if it also helps with fuel efficiency by running a leaner fuel mixture? Any of you guys have experience with it? How do you like it? Is it worth it?

Mine runs great without it. I just have the TCAI

 

Works great for me as I have TRD CAI,DTLH,TRD Exhaust. I love the set up.

 

Ok, so it seems to work better with the exhaust + CAI combo. Anyone with the calibrator and a stock engine? It's strange that not a lot of people have this mod. From previous experience I'm a true believer that software can unleash more power than bolts alone.

 

You need both...I don't think its going to help much with no mods. The stock ecu is perfect as is until you start adding bolt ons.

don't worry about warranty, the dealer has to prove 100% that the said aftermarket product was the cause of the said problem. Which is next to impossible

 

What is the difference with the MAF and AFR?

I vote against these engine mods were we voting? lol

After thinking about it and asking questions, I came to the conclusion
Is it really worth it to take off mileage to get a little more power ?
meaning lets say this motor has an expected life of XX miles
every 'mod' will shorten it's life because of increased performance.
Of course toyata governs or restricts their motors to conform to smog n such, but that also helps attribute to a longer running engine.Sure you can open up the intake and exhaust, then try to get your CPU guts fine tuned and that would be the proper way to do it. You're going to spend a bit to do it right, but either way when you start modding it will decrease your total mileage of that motor.I don't have any actual numbers to back this up, but it doesn't seem that far off. If ya don't care about that , mod away lol
Maybe my age is showing but the stock V6 has plenty of power on and off road.
Go spend that $1500 on suspension or a stereo

 

You afraid of rebuilding an engine? I'd take it as a gift of a learning experience Yes, I'd probably throw a few explicatives at it, but I'd send everything off to my buddy for cryo tempering... never have to worry about it again!

 

Well the way I have seen the guys tune at my local shop they basically keep the engine from running SUPER rich, using more fuel, by leaning it out. By leaning it out a bit and tuning the vehicle it makes more power. ECU tuning isn't a turbo, it's just restoring power from the inefficiencies of the stock ECU. This will gain MAYBE 20% more power, on top of the bolt on upgrade power.
I highly doubt you are going to notice a shortened life of your engine. I would be happier knowing that my engine is running to its full effectiveness.
