Site says you can get 2 - 3.5" lift out of this setup.

I was going to install a ProComp 6 " lift w/35s, Then I went into the 4x4 shop to discuss the setup. I was presented with an outrageous good deal on this kit if i want to go this way. This kit will allow me to run 17s w/33s versus the 6" kit which requires 18s. Before i pull the trigger on either one Im just checking others opinions.

I would go with the camburg kit over a 6" any day

Appreciate the opinion, but can you explain why you would chose one over the other. Just curious.

I can justify either one depending on where the majority of my driving will be.

Really no comparison. Camburg all the way.

Not really clear on why they told you you needed to run 18" wheels with the 6" kit?? You can run whatever you want.

the set up is really nice plenty of travel and cushon for core off roading mine are set at 1inch but the higher you crank them the more stiff and bouncy the ride is going to be

    What Mods!
It says it clearly on the instructions that he needs to run 18" rims another member here had the same problem, good thing about the camburg setup is you dont have to cut the crossmember and with the 6" lift you do. To me you would get more travel and more use for it offroad if you chose camburg.

The ProComp kit changes the OEM steering knuckle. Due to having the VSC option and the placement of that knuckle you are required to use 18" wheels for clearance purposes.

Well that's more than enough reason to run Camburg to me. Better performance, cheaper (and better sized) wheels....

My views on a 6" lift are that it really helps you only half way vs. the 3". yes you get 6" of lift on the sides of the vehicle but you really gain no ground clearance over a 3" in the front under the transfer case due to the drop brackets. plus the expense of wheels and cutting the crossmember. all this adds up to alot of wasted money and not much benefitover a 3" lift

Well, based upon the positive responses and the deal I am getting on the camburg coilover setup I think that is the way to go.

I wanted the look of the 6" lift with the functionality of the camburg travel.

I am just hoping that if i crank that camburg up to 3-3.5" I will get some decent lift on the truck.

Thx for all the replies. Maybe I can get it done before I change my mind yet again.

I would opt for the 6 inch kit. I was in the same debate with my old truck (05 f150). People were running spacers. I didn't like the CV angles. With a 3 inch front spacer setup your truck will always be driving as if someone put a jack under your front end and ratcheted it up 3 inches so your front suspension was drooping but the tires were still touching the ground. With the spacer you are basically cycling down the suspension travel 3 inches and everything goes with it, steering, CV shafts.

To me the spacer/longer coil options is cheap and you get lift, but its not the right way to lift an IFS truck.
