that doesn't mean an android phone can't do it. My Motorola phone plays through my car stereo and charges. Plus, I get Google Navigation for free so I have an on-board GPS. I can record video while it's docked. I have a lap dock that gives me use of a 10" screen, keyboard and mouse. It also contains a large battery so my phone is fully charged even after using it on a long cross-country flight. Plus, with modification, I can run a full distribution of Linux on it and run software like Star Office, a full Mozilla browser, or Gimp (photoshop-like linux app).
My android has an HDMI output so I can set it in the TV craddle and use it to stream or show things on my TV as well.

Also available on Android. A quick search shows it available with ADT.
Options for remotes are also available on Android.

My Atrix phone fits fine in my pocket. There are plenty of android phones of many different sizes. Apple is a one size fits all approach.
never had an issue with mine and I've had 4 updates in a year, one major (Froyo to Gingerbread).
Nothing wrong with an iPhone if that's what you want. My wife has one and loves it. Android is about options.

It'd be a much harder question if I wasn't vested in iTunes. My iPhone 5 will be delivered tomorrow.

The OS on the iPhone is much better than Android. However, Android is more customizable.

I'm picking up a Black 32GB iPhone 5 tomorrow. I preordered at Future Shop. :D The new Apple Maps with voice activated turn-by-turn GPS is gonna be sweat!!

for me, it's not conforming to the rest of the world (if I get the iphone), it would be which one suits my every day needs...which I'm still trying to compile a list of features I want and need.

this thread was more so that I get ideas of what phone others would pick/have and why...well more or less to get some of the features of each phone that I never thought about or knew of.

So far there's been lots of great features for both that I think I would want.

    So thanks everyone...much appreciated

I just really think the Droid is much more cost effective and simpler to use... And its also built stronger, and it has a bigger screen and is thinner and lighter than the iPhone.. Its just better all around... But.. Make ur decision as u will..

iphones email is wayyy better, and not a pain in the ass like androids

apple has a native app to locate all your idevices remotely from a website (i know android has apps to do this, but apples locates every idevice you have, right from the web site, and is free)

they also give you a ghost email account which is cool (and easier to remember when you give it out to people)

they sync everything with itunes (which some people have some big money invested in.. songs etc)

includes an ipod (music app makes the iphone literally an ipod)

you get all the google apps on it, so you can have both! (i.e. chrome, drive, maps, gmail)

new in IOS 6 is voice navigation, that uses siri, so while on your trip you can just tell siri to find you something to eat, and bam... on your to mcrondons, then right back on track like you never left

icloud backups sync alot better than android back ups, should anything ever happen to your phone... its like it never happened. when i had an android you had to root it in order to get that to work well...

notification pull-down is alot better on the iphone (though it was originally a droid function, apple made it better)

do not disturb settings can make it so you only get phone calls during certain times, instead of text alerts, emails, yadda yadda

photostream takes all the pics from your iphone and automatically throws them on all your idevices i.e. ipad, ipod, mac computer...

so there are quite a bit of things that are better about ios than android. battery life is one of them, i can get two days out of my iphone 4s, cant imagine how long the iphone 5 will last.

the iphone also is alot smoother than any android ive seen. as apple only runs pieces of apps in the background, and android runs the whole app in the background.

    multi-tasking is alot easier

Thanks AnT...got that one covered too...I wouldn't verbally blame her...she'll know and that would eat at her conscience knowing that she convinced me and now I hate it.

Of course this is assuming that I do go with the iPhone and end up hating it!! Lot's of if's...i'll cross that bridge when I get there!
