Forgot to mention.... the eno tarp is going to be replacing the tiny ass tarp that came with my Hennessey hammock. No more rain on my face in the middle of the night!

Did one of my Life List Trips last month. Six day backpacking trip in the Many Glacier area of GNP. Route is the Northern Circle, was 62 miles, most above 6000'.
    Group Shot on day 1
    [IMG]

Campsite on Day 2, the little 1 man gray tent is my Lightheart Gear Solo - 22 ounces, uses my trekking poles:

Cold Morning on Day 4, making coffee in the Jetboil. The large Blue bag is a Katadyn Base Camp Gravity Filter
    [IMG]

On the trail on Day 4, probably about 35-40 miles in
    [IMG]

Can you see the Grizzly about 75 yards behind me?

    Above Grinnell Glacier:

On the Highline Trail on the last day , Going to the Sun Road is below us:

End of the trip, 62 miles, beer and pizza never tasted so good:

 I hope it was rain! it wasn't warm!
As far as hammocks go, I don't really recommend the Hennessey.... I am not all that impressed with it (i need to give it another try with the bigger tarp now though because most of my issues were related to the small tarp they give you). I like my Grand Trunk Skeeter beeter more than the Hen at the moment.....it was also half the price. The rain fly model is the Profly.

The only hammocks I have are the Hennessey and the Grand Trunk. I have heard a few people say the double is nice to have if the bugs get bad. There is a pocket attached to the ENO and they just through something like their boots or anything to weigh it down then toss the pocket over top of them and to the other side of the hammock so it keeps the bugs out.

Either way, that wouldn't be a bad set up.

If you guys haven't already seen his posts check this guy out on Facebook. He is walking across America for the families and troops. He started off just above San Fran and is just leaving Steamboat Springs, CO today. It has been cool watching his progress

 I bet! I haven't been back since my trip in 2010, last year was a short season (the road didn't open until late July because of snow) and with the road construction it was a mess...I hope to get back there next year. I did the first (or last in your case) couple of miles of highline. I do have a little fear of heights so it was certainly interesting! I noticed at one point that I was walking crooked, leaning into the hillside, to avoid the ledge. Next time I hope to cover the whole trail.

Got him a few more likes today
There was another guy doing something similar about a month ago. He passed through MT and I saw him a couple of times. I stopped and offered him a ride at one point because he was on a 2 lane highway that gets a lot of semi truck traffic and it was getting dark. I didn't think it was safe for him to be out and it was just a few miles to the next town. He refused though, said he had to keep walking.

    Someday...

I checked out the SW corner of Yellowstone - the "Cascade Corner" its called because there are lots of waterfalls - on my trip this last weekend. I wanted to get a lay of the land to plan future trips down there. Nice area just a really long drive on poorly marked roads.
Visited Cave Falls. There is a series of falls, 5 I think, that stretch across the river. Cave Falls in the widest (250') and tallest (20').

Nice stuff all, Lisa! Man, I wish we got antelopeses and meeses down here.
Grizzlies are extinct, bighorn sheep are extremely rare, shy, and high (and even though we camped on the Bighorn Plateau on the way to Whitney, we never saw one, dadgummit), and moutain lions are, well... they're around. I just never see them.

And FALL COLORS! HERE IT COMES!
