I have an '07 4 banger regular cab 2WD and it has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. I bought it when it hit the lot in '06 and I have done nothing but change the oil since buying it. Are the 4.0 engines just as reliable/low maintaince? I don't tow alot or offroad, but I emjoy riding the old gravel backroads deep out in the country for leisure and with the regular cab I can't bring the wife AND two boys with me. I LOVE my truck , but will I love the bigger DC just as much or more?

51K on my truck. Zero problems. No rattles, squeaks, nothing has broke. It has been a pleasure to own. Go for it!

Only you can know that answer. If you need to space for the family, you've answered your own question.

Keep in mind these V6's are in a variety of vehicles. They are very solid engines.

The V6 is a fucking rock. The 4cyl is bulletproof.
Wether you already own it or if you're thinking of getting it, if the word "Toyota" is in the title, the only question you need to ask yourself is "...do i feel lucky"
