Travis, I'm planning on attending Tuesday's show. Are you going Monday or Tuesday? Tailgating session would be awesome! Let me know.

I've never seen Jason Mraz in concert. Been wanting to for years but never could.

I guess I forgot he was playing two shows. I think i'm going Monday. That sucks, but you will love his live show. Truly a great showman and very talented singer with a super-tight band. If it turns out I have Tuesday tickets I will pm you my number?

Oh and I forgot that this will be the first concert I actually drive the truck to, and my first show with a truck period. So I will actually be tailgating, not just drinking beer next to a vehicle in a parking lot. Semantics, but still cool to me.

I've seen primus there twice and once at the Fillmore. Obviously no contest between the venues, but last time at red rocks the flaming lips were the headliners (surprisingly) and they played dark Side of the moon in order and I thought my melting brain was going to drip out of my head. Incredible

A few questions for you fellow CO guys. I just got my first taco in April and am finally in a place to start making some mods to it. I have a 2012 TRD Sport Access Cab. I believe it already has the 4-leaf pack in the rear but how do I tell for sure? It has 3 leaves stacked together and a 4th shorter/thicker leaf at the axle that sits straighter than the others. Is that right or should I be talking to the dealership about the TSB? I'm not looking to do a full aftermarket lift at this time, just wanted to get the 4-leaf rear and 5100's all around.

Next question is on tires, what do you guys run in CO snow? I'll be looking to get anywhere in Denver during whatever snow storm we have and also looking at getting into the backcountry for boarding, snow shoeing, backpacking, some winter 14ers etc. I was all set to buy a set of 265/70/17 Duratracs until I started reading the long debate threads about how taller, skinnier tires are better in snow etc. I thought it made sense to ask you folks that have run your trucks for a few winters what works for you out here.

    Many thanks in advance!

On the tires I had Duractracs (285/75/16) on my Taco and it did GREAT on pavement, mud, snow, you name it. It was only slightly loud when it rained. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1348251865.114464.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1348251946.433320.jpg

    Welcome man!
Sounds like you have the 4 leaf pack already.
I haven't used my duratracs in the snow yet but have only heard that they are beasts

    Welcome.

Yep, you gots da TSB. It's three leaf and an overload (total of 4 leaf) compared to the pre-TSB which was two leaf plus an overload. You're all set!

Some people hate what other people love so take what you read on internet forums with a grain of salt. Lots of good information but lots of times too much information so you have to weed through it and see what's useful. Duratracs will work just fine in the snow and there is some truth to taller skinnier tires doing better in the snow but I wouldn't worry about it too much and rush out and sell your perfectly good wheels/tires to strap some wooden wagon wheels on your Tacoma. Unless you spend lots of time in the back woods of the mountains how much time do you really spend in the snow here in Colorado?

If you're that worried about snow driving get either an SUV or an Audi Quattro... much better weight distribution.

Yes. Some. Not lots, but some. It would have still fit, but they rubbed. So, I did some trimming, slapped on some wheel spacers and called it good.

Awesome thanks so much all for the info. I'll stick with the 265/70/17 duratracs then since I was already planning on them. So with the TSB already done I should look to set the 5100's to .85 to level out or should I just measure front and back and go from there?

I have 265/70/17 duratracs and love em, I do believe that 9 out of 10 rigs had duratracs on the kingston run this month. im like noah though and havent tried them in the snow yet. I should say i havent tried them in anything deep yet, when i drove home from moab this past spring i hit a massive snow / sleet / freezing rain storm and loved having those tires.

I had to trim my plastic only in the front fender, the little plastic nub that sticks down came off and now i have no rubbing issues. It only rubbed in reverse at full lock too, i will say that for the next set ill be going 285/70/17 because i dont feel as if i have enough tire, 32's 265/70/17 vs 33's 285/70/17. When wheeling at a low pressure i jacked up my wheels in a couple spots.
