I ride a Suzuki DRZ400SM supermoto bike which has the same motor as the LTZ400. Suzuki used the 400 as opposed to a 450 for the reliability. It's a little weak on power but if you're used to a 250 it will be more than enough. I have a big bore cylinder on mine and hot cams and a 39mm FCR carb. It's day and night better than stock and no reliability issues so far. I have about 4500 miles on the bore kit and 7000 on the bike. No issues at all. I even have a buddy with a stock DRZ400SM and he has 20000 miles on his. He's only had to replace the bearing on the front sprocket shaft. If reliability is your worry, worry not. My $0.02.

hell yeah! with paddle tires! have fun man! if you ever want to make it faster talk to Eddie Sisneros with Sisneros Speedworks in Colorado. They built my motor 2 years ago and made my exhaust. Get a quote from him for parts and what not and let SpeedFreak do the work! Stock motor pushes around 35hp. With a bore kit, cams, exhaust, and 39mm FCR carb, I'm making an est. 50hp! not to mention with the cams and exhaust the thing sounds nuckin futs.

Eddie knows his stuff, a bit pricey, but good for sure.

I have a CRF 488r that makes 64hp, and a YZ 250 (300) that makes just under 50hp, both friggin scream..

i dont think i'll be doing any mods to it, we picked it up today and i rode it at our house (i need to find some trails to ride that the horse people don't complain if i'm on them) and it has alot of power compared to the 250, and it has a softer suspension for me,it also slides better. oh and please excuse the messy garage.

dang thats a lot of horsepower. on a side note. i wanna change the oil and filter on the suzuki, and its time to change the oil (no filter) on the honda. is standard motorcycle oil what i would use? i looked in the owners manuals and they dont have what type of oil listed. thanks

EDIT: i downloaded a different manual for the 250 and it said to use 10w-30 or 10w-40, us the same in the zuki?
