    The fact that our dipsticks suck.....

    What's the problem - the dipstick or the tube?

    Yeah, I know...I've sanded and used a file on mine and it still sucks major ass to read it properly. Not that it matters...but its annoying.

    Anyone make an aftermarket dipstick that'll read accurately and correctly?

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    The best dip sticks are a wound hilix type. The hold the oil when you pull it out, and are easy to read.

    I spelled it wrong. You can have one made at a place that works/re builds deisel engines. Its a helical wire, so It holds the oil in the winds so you can more easily see it when checking. We have made a few and they work well.

    Just take a small centerpunch and put several small dimples in the dipstick, it will be much easier to read :)
