I say no keepy without trimmage. They be too long to survive frwy speeds without eventually bending backward and breaking even if you don't break them hitting them on something while offroading. And that isn't even taking into account spraying water and mud at them either. No trimmy, no lasty. That's just on mostly stock trucks too, any suspension or tire/wheel upgrade much at all = remove in most cases.

Here, let me ho dis pic out one more time...........If you look close at the fronts you can see how much I trimmed them so they won't get hit if offroad or bend backward on frwy. The rears are also trimmed. Trimmed about 5-6" off the fronts and 2-3" off the back, where both sets are 13" off the ground......

I went with OEM step tubes...and they clear the front mud flaps with no problem.

take all 4 off before they mess up the pain the the fender flares! un less you have a law saying you need them. TN dose not have any law. hell i could run true bead locks on the road if i wanted.

    I don't get this

Remove the flaps so they don't wreck the fender paint so you can rifle rocks off of your fenders , rockers , doors and mirrors ?

Because if you keep them on long enough they will vibrate right through the paint on your fenders. If you've had yours on long enough take them off and look, you'll see. And honestly the truck looks ten times better with them off.

You still rifle rocks all over your doors , rockers and fenders by removing them unless you only drive on pavement .

OZ you really don’t throw rocks like you would think. i have the nitto terra grappler, and i do fire roads logging roads, gravel roads all the time and don’t have any rock chips and hardly even even have a rock hit the door. have have them hit the mirrors. i took my front off 3 days after i got my truck, that was may of 2011. i took my back off this summer and all the plastic tabs wear broke from off roading only thing holding them on was like 3 screws. i’m surprised i did not rip them off at some point.

I only removed my front mudflaps because my tire removed them. My rear mudflaps are still intact and installed.

At first I removed them because they were hanging down to low and dragging on ridiculous areas. Then I noticed how soft my factory paint is with all the rock chips on the side of my cab so I put them back on. I did cut three inches off them before the reinstall and now I'm happy with leaving them on. The Mudd Flap mod took me 5 minutes with a marker, ban saw and sanding block. Good luck all

Just trim them up, use a pair of sheet metal sheers or a dremel, take about 5 inches. Thats what I did and it looks stock, but tons more clearance.

What I did with the fronts: (thanks to reading many threads here on the site, concerning this problem): Remove them. Sell on ebay for $100 + $15 shipping. Buy Husky flaps for $40 shipped. Less work than trimming factory flaps (unless you want even shorter ones- then trim).
