If you want you can help me build a flatbed for the 84. It has no bed and I want to do a flatbed/utility set up for it. I'll post pics as soon as I can. I only have 1 right now lol.

yeah i could try and help. first thing i’m really going to do is a roof rack for my truck. will have a 20” or maybe a 30” led light bar on it.. and i’ll be able to set anything or strap anything down on it.
idk yet. got to look into a few things first. what do you suggest? fly i have done no welding of any kind, so i have to learn. i don’t know anyone that still has a welder, so i’m just going to buy my self one. ok well i do know like 2 or 3 people, but they all live in western NY.

would be used to build roof/bed racks, a off road trailer, and who knows what els.

Nice. I already have a new fender and front clip for it. But I'm not so much worried about that right now. Just want to get a flatbed on it. Also for shits n giggles I'm going to do stacks with flaps on it haha.

I like stick because there is endless possibility with it, plus you can weld really rusted metal with it (most farm equipment). Plenty of possibilities to make money. Mig with no gas is alright... I don't really care for it. If your getting mig I would highly suggest getting gas for it. That way you could run hard wire, it will be cleaner, easier to learn, and faster.

If it was me I'd go with stick because its a hell of a lot cheaper than mig, and almost as easy to learn.

here is what i have fabbed up the past couple of days, its a tire rack that hindges so you can have it at an angle till you need to use your bed, then it will rotate and set level with the top of the bed.

ok cool. i’ll look into stick a lot. either way i want to learn how to weld and build some stuff. and the only way i really see it happening is if i just buy a welder and learn.

nice. i would make something that will hold it down, when you have it at angle. i read one or 2 post about them bouncing, so just something you may want to do.

If you look closely there are holes drilled in the pipe that a bolt drops into that will stop it from bouncing, the lower pic will show them in :) haha

I got a flux core welder you can use to learn on if you want. But I recommend a mug with gas the shielding gas makes the welds so much cleaner, not much splatter. Most cracker jack boxes "stick" are great all around heavy duty. Mug with gas can do al and ss. Just let me know. Btw do not buy from liwes or homedepot go to a welding store the units at the box stores are hard to get parts for.
