Don't know if its the best spot, but here's where I put mine. I took out the glove compartment and found some space between the center console and the side of the glove comp. Used some zip ties to keep it secured.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
it'll fit behind the radio somewhere. There's lots of nooks and crannies back there. (never spelled nooks and crannies before, hopefully thats right)

behind the radio to the right, there's a good spot. It's between the radio and the glove box. Mine slid right in there.

Thats the best place. I actually have an ipod adapter and a bluetooth module in there. Quite roomy! And you can reach back there from through the glove box too.

I mounted mine about 6" above the throttle. I figured it would be a good place if I need to access it again soon.

I used some zip ties to secure mine in the same place.

What everyone else said....There is tons of room behind the glove compartment or the radio. Mine is wedged and zip tied in between some stuff back there...out of the way and feeds the iPod cable into the glove compartment nicely.

i actually dropped the glove box and mounted it right on top of the glove box, fits great and I can drop the glove box easily to access it if i use a different setup with rca's or a headphone jack.
