front left tire hard to turn by hand when off the ground

    3 inch lift(coil spacers in front and larger shackels on leafs in rear) 32x11.5x16 mickeythompson baja belted, drilled performance front rotors and performance pads
    I jacked my truck up and turned the tires by hand and noticed that the right tire spun more freely the the left. The left tire was very hard to turn but did. The cv axle looked like it was turning with the tire and wasn't binding up. I lossened the lugs nuts about 1/2 turn each and the tire seemed to turn easier. whats going on?

    I was thinking maybe the pistons in the caliper arent fully retracting.......Given that it freed up a little as the lug nuts were removed.

    YES, i PUT NEW WHEELS ON BUT LAST YEAR.i PUT ON A SPACER SO IT WOULDN'T RUB AGAINST THE caliper. This is a new problem. i thought maybe the caliper or bearing is going

    I put new wheels and tires on over a year ago and used a spacer so the rim would not rub on the caliper. This is a new problem. I think the caliper or bearing. Is there even a bearing in there??

    How do you check the caliper to see if it is bad. Wouldn't my truck be pulling to one side if it was bad??

    The way I check things like that is to use an infrared thermometer. Compare the drive side to the passenger side after a drive. If one brake rotor is hotter, you have a dragging piston/s. If the hub is hotter than the other, then you have bearing issues.

    Yes, it should, in theory, pull to one side. If you suspect the bearing, try this.

    Reinstall the tire. Place one hand on the top and one on the bottom. Then shake the shit out of it. If you have any movement then that is an indication it is bad.

    poss caliper starting to go bad maybe the slids
    poss b/hose he can open the bleeder if its the hose
    fluid will shoot out :D
