meh, theres tons of other places you could put that money. Short shifter isnt going to do anything but raise your mpgs. You'll be shifting twice as much just cause you can.

It literally just shortens the distance your shift knob has to travel. Lazy man's shifting or a race car's shifting. It's your truck man, but like Ian said, lots of other more useful places that money could go.

And I haven't played with one before or after, but I can't imagine it makes that much of a difference on a non high performance vehicle like we have. My Hyundai has huge throw distances between gears and I can shift it plenty fast when I want to get on it. I don't even let off the throttle between gears and can shift fast enough that it doesn't hit the rev limiter.

 

Just hack your shifter in half and throw the knob back on. bam. short shifter.

Finally got the new boots on the cv's on the car! I started to tear the car apart on last saturday then I got to work on it about an hour last night and then finally finished it up today. Just need to find some GL4 gear oil though... So far I haven't had any luck finding any, it's all GL5.

Yeah, I think it was Monday. Brant had a spare one that he picked up from the dealership that got replaced on someone else's Taco. They must drive really shitty because apparently it has some slop in it and I haven't had a problem with it making a noise. haha
