    Not surprising. Spiders are not exactly defenseless. The web alone is a major hurdle - won't support weight of mantis, but will slow his movements. While the mantis is tangled in that web, spider has the advantage, and that's not a comparatively tiny spider. In the end, mantis probably figured there are easier meals for dinner.

    When I lived in south korea we had so many spiders it was like a damn plauge! but we also had a bunch of mantis's. I worked night shift and thats how we passes the time.

    I showed that mother fucker the exit, instead of grabbing paint I figured it was time to clean his choke/MAF sensor....

    Oooppss !! guess he & his buddy don't have chokes/MAF sensors
