882s are still 500lbs though. I figured I'd need something with a higher rate to deal with the armor?

well spring rates and lengths are two different sides of the same coil or so to speak.

Both have advantages and both can merit the same results.

Why are you thinking of changing out anyways??

    not necessary

The 882s are longer and while they are rated at 500lbs that rating is usually for the first inch or so of travel. After of which the rate goes up due to compression..

now while that sounds dumb, thats why the 882 is a longer coil vs the 883. It'll actually support the weight better as it get compressed as opposed to the 883s being lower, will be much lower while supporting the same weight. If that makes sense..

I've been thinking off and on about changing the coils, never like the idea of having that 1/4" spacer in there but oh well, not exactly on the top of my priorities haha.

I hope I can make it to Lander next year.:( Depends a lot on my school schedule, I have to cram a lot of prerequisite classes before I can start the RN program next fall.

Gotta make it out here for Morrison Trail man!

sorry yes, correct. I was reading a wrong thing.

However..still due to the taller standing height of the 882s, they will hold the truck higher then the 883s will with more weight and actually..ride smoother..

I gotta say, looking at charts for there actual spring rate..im getting odd numbers..

    Also good point.

gonna need a big hammer for 33.5'' tires on 2'' of lift haha

also..this was interesting. found it on TTORA

Makes the 882s seems more appealing to Jon..not quite so much for Ben now. Least not with out the ARB and skids for sure.

Wow actually Ben..looks like your screwed either way i think. The more i read, the more people just say you need a 650lb coils to really run a plate bumper. So..get eibachs i guess or save up for your SAWs now haha
