so i finally got a good job in the field that i graduated from college in. so now i can finally start lookin for a tacoma, as well as other vehicles. still not sure exactly what i want. i'm mainly lookin at the 05 and up 4wd tacomas. cant afford brand new, i dont want outragous monthly payments. so i'm probably restricted to the 4 cyl 4wd models. i had a question about the TSB on them. lets say the orignial owner did not have the TSB done for the leafs on their truck, even if I am not the original owner, can i have this service done? or any other TSBs that i should be concerned about?

I got my '05 without the TSB done last summer.
Earlier this year I was shopping around for suspension and found out about the TSB after I bought some Icon coilovers.Thats fine, I really like the ride the front has..however, the rear is a sagging lump of crap. I have tried 2 dealers so far and they act like I'm crazy and say to go get an add a leaf if it sags. I'm going to call corporate on this and make a mention of unsafe handling conditions with minimal weight in the rear, but I assume im way out of any warrany I have almost 80k miles.
So, if you haven't bought one yet.. read about the TSB and how to identify when it is needed. And if you find one you like that doesn't have the TSB done..ask them to do it before you buy. good luck

u have to be under 3 years and 36k miles to get it done. if u go through a dealer to get a truck, have them do the work before you drive it off the lot

It has to be a truck that qualifies for the TSB as well (4x4 or Prerunner in either Access cab or Double cab). Standard cab doesn't qualify.

if u have a dealer that is somewhat ok, u'll be fine. the block doesnt hurt the fact that the springs are known weak from toyota. that block also doesnt diminish the load capacity of the springs either. take it in and if they say something, fight it....or remove the block before u go.

well if all goes well and this truck doesnt sell by the time i get off work today, i'm driving about 2 hours to go check out the 05 that i was talkin about previiously. hopefully its a good truck and all goes well. and i really really hope my car makes the trip there and back, shes been having some issues lately haha. since im going by myself if i do purchase this truck, i wont be able to pick it up til this weekend since i'm still unable to drive to vehicles at the same time. im working on it tho
