So after reading this thread, is it safe to say?

dino oil - add 4oz LSD additive
synthetic oil - add 8oz LSD additive

    Sound right?

    Not necessarily.....

If you're using synthetic, put 4oz in to start with. Do some tight 8 circles and drive around for a few days. If your rear-end is chattering or rumbling, then add another bottle.

Thanks for the info. Looks like between the diffs, transfer case, and the tranny, I'll be buying 8 quarts of gear oil. Time for some OT at work...

I was planning on getting Royal Purple Max-Gear 75W90. It's $20.99 a quart at my local Advanced Auto. 20.99 x 8 + 6.25% tax = $178.42. Royal Purple seems the least favorable synthetic here, but that was before we figured out to add up to 8oz of LSD additive.

I used Supertech full synthetic , and added Lube Gard limited slip supplement, in the past I used Mobil 1 with hypoid/LS already in....Didnt work shuddered like crazy , Used Redline , U name it......This Supertech is fkn awesome for the price...Now its smooth and silky like your mommas satin panties......The Lube Gard, "yes its spelled that way" is 7.50 at Oreillys , made with( Synthetic Wax Ester ). Hope this saved you all some money and solved some issues...

White, debadged, Mudflaps removed, ICON 2.5 in front, 2.0 in rear, all 4 corners have reservoirs, Spidertrax wheel spacers all around, BAMF bolt on sliders, Avid lightbar, oem transmission cooler converted to power steering cooler, aftermarket transmission cooler eliminating all oem transmission cooler stuff, remote mounted spin on transmission fluid filter TrueTrac rear differential, rear diff housing vented and filtered into left side bed box, URD MAF calibrator, Volant intake scoop into oem airbox, second filter removed, airbox internals smoothed, blended and polished throttle body, NST intake manifold spacer, Wet Okolee set covers, WeatherTech Digital Fit mats, inexpensive JVC single DIN, Scangage, AVS Stepshield door sill protectors, Doug Thorley Long Tube Headers, URD Y pipe with O2 sims.
Seeing the price of the oil, almost more economical to convert to a TruTrac diff.
