Just bought my 2001 Taco and can't figure out how to get this off! HELP!

So picked up my Taco yesterday and woke up bright and early to wash and wax it. Washed it and couldn't get this gunk off the truck and windows. I'm a detailing enthusiast and tried everything to make it better and nothing work washed,claybarred, and waxed with

$21 collinite 845 insulator wax-easy to use carnauba+polymer wax sealant-high gloss shine+durable hydrophobic beading & long lasting paint protection for cars/boats/trucks/rvs & motorcycles (16 fl oz)

collinite 845 and nothing really helped. If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it I want my taco shining!

 

Try white vinegar on the glass.
Looks like water spotting from a sprinkler system, and they are sometimes fed with reclaimed water so may be quite high in minerals and other contamination.

 

What about the paint

 

If claybar won't do it, you're looking at a complete buff-out.
Most mellow compound first, then progress from there.
Hopefully the clear isn't penetrated.

 

before you go buffing the whole car or spending loads of money on whatefer.... get two things and try them first.

MX-7 Ultra and MX-7 Plus.

one is for glasss the other is for paint.

this stuff works.

 

I have used mothers water spot remover, Simple green MAX, and the ultimate compound and nothing takes the water spots off this window.

 

I've had great luck with the Magic Eraser.

Is there tinting on that window? It looks like a bad Window Tinting that was done for me years ago on another vehicle. If someone used hard water(full of minerals) then it could look like that when it dries. It can't be cleaned unless you remove the tinting.

 

I don't believe so because I'm pretty sure I can feel the texture on the window from the outside

 

If the truck was ever washed at a truck stop, they very well may have used "brightener" or acid, (usually used for aluminum wheels) on the paint and windows as well. It is common practice as this procedure won't harm anything if done correctly. The way to tell is to look at the spots and see if you can see a rainbow of colors. Kinda like oil on the road after it rains. If this is the case, your best bet is to clean with Windex and a buffer on the glass.

 

Try medium cutting pad and some M105 should take care of it

 

See I already tried the ultimate compund on the glass.

And with the windex i trued stoners first didnt work

 

You might try steam, it looks like it was once soluable. At the very least try the hottest water you can get.

Find someone that has a reverse osmosis water(RO) filter and get that water. RO water has all of the minerals removed so it is "hungry" for minerals unlike well water.

 

No No No I have your answer here. Go to a Marine Dealer and get some water spot remover for boats. I used to have a boat and waterspots on the windows was a everyday event. They'll come off with the correct product.

The spots on your glass are from acid rain, mine has them also seems worse on my front windows. I checked with a detailer and he told me nothing you can do about it.

This with the porter cable and an orange pad has done wonders for me. My DD 96 corolla looked like that when I got it. Looks good as new now except for a few chips a Knicks in the glass (original windshield )

It can be removed. But takes some power

This is a great cleaner and with an orange pad, will clean the paint up and bring the shine back.

More likely those spots are from hard water(if you use well water that's it). It can be polished out.

 

wait. i have water spots on my window glass as well.. vinegar will get it off??
