    Hey guys,

Had 2 questions about the Warn M8000 install into ARB bumper (for 2nd gens)...

    1) Do you have to completely remove the bumper to install the winch within the ARB. I was hoping to remove the skid, some bolts, and tilt the bumper to make room to put the winch up from the bottom... possible?

    2) The M8000-s has an aluminum hause fairlead (obviously with different dimensions than its roller counterpart). It looks as though its mounted through the bolts that hold the lower feet of the winch drum support (i.e. bolt, hause, 1/4'' ARB mount, warn winch lower feet). If the hause is mounted this way the ARB feed hole for the winch needs to be trimmed down so it doesn't interfere with drawing in/out the synthetic cable? So should be cut about 3/4'' lower than at present? I donno...If anyone has done this install please advise.

    Thanks again for the help

We installed mine while the bumper on the truck. It wasn't fun but it worked. Make sure you "clock" the winch before installing. The M8000 I had came with steel rope so I can't help you with your 2nd question.

hmmm, I'm not sure about that kind of fairlead on the ARB, most guys who run synthetic rope with the ARB usually run daystar synthetic rollers, they're like hard plastic instead of the usual metal rollers you see with steel cable, thats what'd id go with instead

Thanks. Thought it might be tough, but I'd prefer to leave it on. When you say 'clock' the winch before installing, you mean rotate the gearbox right? So you can access the clutch when it's all together/installed

you need to trim it for an aluminum fairlead with synthetic - about .5-.75"

    A few bolts are different.
Check my build for pics of this setup and rope clearance. It is also best to use a offset fairlead.

be sure to post up pics of the finished process, i definitely want to see how it turns out, as i'll eventually go synthetic as well, and hate the way the rollers look
