    I had this done cuz had sloppy play in column at the joint crush sleeve thingy....just tack weld both or all sides and will still give in an accident but no more play, rattle and slop. Awesome fix! I'll look for pic I have of column out....

    thanks bud.... yeah i actually went here for this pictures. took me about 2 hrs. truck feels like its new again!

    i tacked mine offset of the nylon break away inserts. tried not to get them hot. but mine looks just like their finished product. i would not recommend welding it all the way around, the steering column wouldnt collapse in an accident. the tacks are still iffy but i 5hink they have a good chance of breaking if an accident were to occur...... i looked up that part just for kicks at work. freakin thing is 200 bux my price!!!!! ergo i like this mod :)
