Ok I will get some posted soon, I don't have time just yet so I supplied the above link to give you an idea. I bought the stripped down version and installed a fridge, heater water tank water pump shower etc. myself rather than buying it that way from aliner. Probably saved a grand I'm guessing.

It has two dinettes as pictured both convert to beds one is a full queensize and the other is just a bit under a queen.

Here a couple pics from this past weekend

Nice set up. Did you modify the trailer for off road use yourself?

No I had Brian from American Motorsports build the lift and weld up a carrier for my water tank. Aliners come with a 10 gallon tank which is installed inside one of the storage compartments. I installed an 18 gallon tank above the axle, more water, better weight distribution and leaves me more storage inside the trailer. The lift is adjustable and clears my BFG 30's perfectly.

Everything on the trailer runs on a AC & DC and propane for the heater and shower. I have run it on a 4 day weekend several times on just one battery thats with the fridge running, the heater (at night) and using the interior lights (sparingly) I really don't know how long the battery will go with no charge but its lasted all my trips so far. Water is the thing that goes the fastest if we are showering every day plus dishes etc...

we would run 3 porch lights and 2 interior lights puls charging our phones and laptops for movies on our 3day hunts and it would work like a charm

How do you like the A frame? How does the Taco do pulling it? I have been looking at one of those or a tear drop trailer.

It's awesome, I really look at it as a hardside tent with a few amenities. When I go camping we spend all but our sleeping hours outside to include cooking showering etc.. So I wasn't looking for a house to tow around.

I can get this trailer about anyplace I would want to camp. I don't plan on rock crawling with it but I can certainly get to remote areas where RV's and other trailers cant.

My main motivation in getting the trailer was its hardside. Wind, snow, and rain, the things that can turn camping miserable are of no consequence inside the trailer. I have been on too many trips where all other options including the best RTT's and the flipac failed, were folded up and the people had to sleep inside their trucks or just go home. That is not to say those are not fantastic options in good to mediocre weather but anything canvas is just not for me.

Additionaly after pulling in to camp my trailer can be set-up in the poring rain and me and the GF inside warm and dry in 20 seconds. If you have set-up or taken down a tent in the rain you know what I'm talking about.

As for towing, fully loaded with food water propane etc... the trailer is probably someplace around 1500 lbs. The truck doesn't even know its back there. I have not compared gas mileage with or without the trailer but I don't think there is much of a difference.

On this last trip there was about a trillion small flys where we were. The adults and kids retreated to my trailer and sat in there playing card games and drinking in comfort.

We leave it stocked and ready so at a moments notice if we decide to go camping, all we have to do is put food in it hook up and go. There is none of this loading and unloading and hours of preparation. My truck is left completely unloaded with the exception of firewood if I'm taking it and my usual tools/spares etc..

It really has met all of my needs and I'm telling you when you get to camp and get all set-up including a shower, camp kitchen etc.. in just a few minutes then can hit the trails its great. I would not want my vehicle to be tied to my campsite that would not fit in with my camping/offroading style.

This is an Autohome Maggiolina Airland with changing room and awning on a Leer 100RCC commercial shell with Dewalt rack. Great in wind and for cold weather they make a thermal blanket that goes around the tent sides which is also reflective for overly hot weather.

Now that is a cool RTT! I would love to get one for just me when I go out of state hunting or fishing. Easy to take with you in those non trailer friendly places. Quick setup and easier than towing a trailer or setting up a tent. Not to mention off the ground away from bears lol. At least make them work for their food. Lol

I also like it being on top of a shell so that I still have the full height of the bed for lockable storage. If you had kids or something it also leaves the bed as a second sleeping area. On that particular trip having an RTT was also nice because it kept my hitch free to pull my utility trailer to haul my buddy's 6-wheeler. And yeah, I take my can of bear spray upstairs with me at night! :D

For anyone that missed it, here's another thread with some great camping setups-

Had I not went with the trailer, this was exactly my runner up option.

The funny thing is I had never heard of RTT's and was shopping online for a pop-up trailer when I inadvertently stumbled across an ad for one. I'm also considering working up an alternate mount to put it on top of my utility trailer for times when I want my truck available while camping.

I'm diggin' your trailer setup too!

If I remember, autohome which is who makes the maggiolina also makes a set of "legs" you can use. If they don't you could always make set-up yourself which would allow you to easily detach the RTT and set it up as a ground based unit. I doubt it would be very hard. That is what I was looking in to. A good fabricator could make a quick release set-up. Of course then you may be leaving your 3000 tent alone at camp for anybody to help themselves :)
