alloy wheels flaking...

my rims are flaking off , they are alloy rims anyone know the warranty on them 3 yr or 5 yr?

call or go to the dealer, they will most likely give you some crap that is normal wear and tear. what year is the truck.

 

is a 2006, 3 yr warranty up on tuesday may 5/09

my trd sport rims (06) are flaking like crazy.....i'm way out of warrenty and was offered refinishing but i want to do black rims

 

How many miles?? Both cause that affect warranty too...and depending on the amount of flaking- They may try to chalk it up to road damage (Canada...Winters, Wilderness, etc etc)

 

34000 kms, thats what I assume they will do, gonna stop by on monday and see what they say, hopefully I will get a new set out of it, fronts are worse than the rears

Most of the time they will offer to resurface them.
It's only a surface issue with the prep that causes the flaking...but...GOOD luck either way!!

 

Went to the dealer today and they are going to resurface the alloys, said they could replace with new ones but they will do the same thing again, apparently they need to have an edge taken down on the inside to prevent salt build up which causes the rust. should be better than new when finished!
