    I found that I took the controls out by pulling the face plate for these controls off. Then Pulling the actual light bulb out and bending the little contact wires out just a little. They seem to not be getting good contact over years of use. I just ordered some new bulbs for these from ebay. I got a 6 pack for 17.99. But since I did this trick they have not gone off on me yet. I use them quite a bit since I work nite shift. I can get pics later if need be.
