Starts Sept. 1st here. I go with my 10-22 scoped at 50 yards, or with my 11-87 with #6 express and improved cylinder. I'm kinda psyched for some red-neck surf-n-turf. Perch and squirrel:D!

I got my bull first day of rifle. Lesson learned; don't rely on someone else's camera

Thanks. Yeah, M1. I had gorgeous rifles, wish I hadn't sold them! :annoyed:

Unfortunately for the deer, I had to throw out a lot of the meat. Apparently my Lt. (whos land I was hunting on) had shot it in the leg 3 days prior and it had a pretty bad infection.:(

very nice guns sir! my dad has one, fun gun too shoot. we don’t hunt with it or anything tho. and that sucks you had to throw out a lot of the meat! my first deer was a doe, dressed it weighed 97 lbs was 4 1/2 years old. i ended up hitting her right in the back. :( i was in a filed and to about my 2 or 3 o clock, was a nice dip, thru the filed and she was facing down hill walking the wood line. she took a step right as i shot. i have passed one 2 or 3 deer just because i could not get a good kill shot. yeah it sucked passing on them, but i would rather pass than just injure the deer and have it run off and die a few days later.

it’s bow season here right now. muzzleloader dose not start till november i think, it’s open for 2 weeks, than gun opens and runs thru december. you can take up to 3 deer a year. when you think about it’s thats still A LOT of meat, even more since me and dad both can take up to 3. in gun you can use pretty much anything, shot gun with slugs, buck shot can not be used. can use muzzleloaders, or any rifle. i know all the laws and most of the wildlife officers in the areas i hunt, my dad has been with Tennessee wildlife resources agency(TWRA) for 35+ years. in that time he moved up a few times, mostly office work the past 2 year. he turns 62 tomorrow and has to turn all his stuff in and retire i’m pretty sure he is ready tho to go tho.
