So, things I've done or had done this week... New tires, oil change, trans. fluid change, front and rear diff fluid change, transfer case fluid changed, new fuel, oil, and air filter, and finally got the supercharger oil changed... It actually was really easy and maybe took 30 minutes! Know I'll just wait and see if it breaks!
The old oil was jacked though... As soon as I opened the plug there was a foul smell and the oil was black. Only extracted 3 3/4 ounces of oil out and it took back almost 6. Did see any shavings in it though, so that's good!

Don't count on it. I had mine balanced at Discount about a year ago and got vibration, took it back they did it again, still vibration (right around 50-60). I just lived with it, and last month took it back to try again. I asked the desk jockey if the techs knew to use the right adapter for a Tacoma and he told me that yes they do and they just recently started using another adapter for the Tacoma's hub type due to "several" complaints. This time it balanced out nice. BTW, this was the Discount Tire in Pearland by YMCA Drive.

Don't get me started on the one by 288. Told the guy I had a nail in my front driverside. He said let's me go see if that mail is there. Then finds it and ask what year is my truck. Told him 2010. He said don't you take care of your truck? As if it was beat to shit when he saw it. Told him it's a 4x it sees mud and trials, I don't expect it to be clean. Or did you want me to drop the truck on 30 inch chrome rims? Sorry no chrome on this truck. So he looked at me as if I was being racist towards him and walked in, handed the papers to another guy that took care of me.

Needles to say it didn't happen just once. It was twice with the same guy.

well the league city one told me that they thought I had a bent rim, so they put it on the back and the 2 of the wheels were out of balance. But I still have the same vib issues almost seem worst than it was. I cringe every time I let these guys take my wheels off, because they are scratching the paint off my center caps....

Downside to chain stores,,, it's always hit-or-miss with them, depending on the store and the manager/desk-person/tech de jour. On any particular day it could be big time success or big time suck. About the only thing I attempt to do is find a store in a lower traffic area as they tend to want the business more and want to keep 'em coming back then is some of the higher traffic areas. But that is definitely more of a guideline then a rule,,, which is another reason I try to avoid the 518/288 area as much as possible.

Yeah, it was more of a "smiley" suggestion. From reports I've heard they work well in motorcycle tires, but I haven't heard about truck tires, nor do I know the $$$ involved as I would assume that it woud take a pretty good bunch of beads to balance out a large tire.

...and you get alot of good target practice by shooting them into valve stem instead of just pouring in the dynabeads :p

From what i've read up on them, it's better on trail vehicles. Just because when wheeling, the weights fall off. But then again, if it's just a trail truck, would you really notice if your tires are out of balance?

I'm still a little skeptical as to how they work though.
