    I gotta have wide tires living up in the mountains with lots of snow. Since our trucks are so light, the skinny tires don't cut thru to the pavement for traction! So instead, the wide tires get up on top and allow me to get where I need to when the snowplows can't keep up and the roads are over 2 feet deep! The only time I got stuck (which was before my lift w/ 33x1250s) the snow was over my headlights, which sucks when it's 3am and dark as hell! lol I couldn't see where I was going! So my vote is wide tires! ;) Just my $0.02!

    Wide tires are good for mud and poor fuel mileage, oh and looks. haha. They make your power steering pump work harder too. I have never had a problem steering my 255's, there is almost zero resistance on the steering wheel, I could practically turn it with just my pinky. I drove Ben's for a little bit with his 285 or 295's and that was the first thing I noticed was that it was a lot harder to steer it.

    I'll keep my skinny tires:D

    Holy shit!! Snow over your head lights?! oh wait, I just re-read that. Pre-lift. haha. I was going to say. You have like 6" over most of us.

    The 2nd gens are pretty heavy so riding on top of the snow isn't as much of an option as it is for 1st gens.

    where specificially were you that the snow was at your head lights?

    So since you have been in stupid deep snow, realistically how deep of snow do you think my truck on a 2.5" lift and 33" tires will plow through? Top of bumper?

    Didn't you say you weighed like 4700lbs when you were loaded up for Moab? I weigh over 5000lbs, with nothing in the bed, empty toolbox, and nobody in it.

    According to factory specs, a 2nd gen DC is supposed to be 300lbs heavier than a 1st gen DC, but I have like 800lbs of unaccounted for weight... I am supposed to weigh about 4050lbs (I'm assuming dry, that' the only thing that seems to make sense). My sliders weigh about 110lbs, the tires are maybe 20lbs over stock, the bullbar is supposed to weight about 40lbs and the toolbox is probably right around 40lbs as well. So that gets me to about 4260. Where are the other 600-700lbs coming from? fluids?

    I call BS!;) haha

    We aren't counting my weight. Also I can't imagine the rim weight is much different. Not positive though. Yeah fuel is a big jump, but I can't imagine all the fliuds in the Taco add up to 600+lbs. We are talking around 50 extra gallons of fluids besides the fuel, depending on how much heavier oil is over fuel.

    If a shit ton is somewhere between 600-700 lbs then that is the only logical explanation:D

    and that doesn't even exist in 2nd gens either. Like 95+% of DC 2nd gens are V6's and all the V6's come with the 5 spd auto or the 6 spd manual.

    Although I guess technically I have a 5 spd DC:D

    Another logical explanation might be that the number you are using for your weight is not correct.:rolleyes:
