Lol. When I said eyebolts I meant the cheap ones, not the forged ones. Oh well whats a few bucks more at this point...

I thought the spare was supposed to mount on that tailgate thingy, in order to completely block the view? ;)

Ask youself what purpose is the tailgate serving? If the answer is none, ditch it, along with anything else not serving a function. Its really just a piece of tube bent around your tire at this point, not really fair to call it a tailgate. Just get rid of the rest of the bushing on your cage, ditch the ginormous leftover rear bumper from when you had the bed, and stop by the house. We will straighten it out back there.

    Imagine this:

    With this rear bumper:

    2011-02-27162355_86ce4b7bd28fcce7a1152197af8d59c619062a41.jpg

And we can even add a new tab for ur cb antenna....doesnt look like it will work to good down there anymore. :D

Looks good. Like to see the progress. :D

Quick fixed my fuel nozzle till I can figure out something better, but I love zip ties.

I didn't do much, added another quart to the rear end to fill up the gear lube, fixed the fuel nozzle shit. Messed with my lights that I didn't fix yet, drove it a little, chopped up my DS, just need need to find tube to replace it with to make it longer. Would up my winch better, the cable was fucked up.

Is the 'crinkle' in the tires a good or bad thing?

As for the front fenders it looks like it's just bolted on, is it temporary? IMO I'd go with dimple die plates in between the tube like the one section closest to the door.

Yeah not too fond of the fenders.... Or the exo :flipoff: Why not just chop out the section that was welded in, throw a stock fender on and build the exo around it? Tube fenders are REALLY hard to pull off on these trucks because the bodies are kinda bubbly.

They are bolt on so I can access my wiring and snorkel. Also for ease of cleaning behind them as I know they will get packed with mud. I'm sure I'll add dimples to it but Idk

I agree with you 100%. I don't like the exo either honestly. I've been upset with it from like day 1. I would love to throw a stock fender back in and build around it. When I get money and help from someone with the capability to bend tube I will go that route! :)

Thanks man! I love SNL, the jeopardy set is absolutely to die for. Also, good to know someone lurks here

Alright... I did some stuff today...

    Bolted the Tool box down

I put the hi-lift behind the tool box because the box would not open very far due to the /\ cross bars on top. It works well this way.

I was called into work for over 5 hours today so I really didn't get much done after that.

I had to lengthen my front driveshaft about 3 inches since I wasn't using much DS at full droop anymore.. Maybe 1-2" at best. I thought about getting DS's made from a shop, but realized it wasn't necessary, and it was expensive. So I did the next best thing, put my shitty fab skills to work [IMG]

Cut the tube off and ground it down so the new tube can slide over it.

    Cut the other end

    What's left over

Here you can see the cleaned up edge

Side by side old vs new

Here you can see I was able to get it as level as possible

Slid the new shaft on, got it as straight as possible...

Now here is the tricky part, I put the other end on and needed to get it straight. I came up with my own jig using various shit around as shims to see if it was straight or not before welding it.

    Fuck it, welded it.

    Painted it bitches!

Well I got the front shaft put back in, it was really close to being straight, but when I rotated it by hand it was very slightly off. I think it's good enough for the front. Obviously a lathe would be optimal, but yeah...

My stupid front fenders were vibrating so badly causing a god awful rattling noise and I was sick of hearing it. I found some of my spare PS hose and cut a small piece to act as a bushing on the fender.

    No more rattle

Made myself some tabs for my flag and CB mount

Mounted my CB antenna at the highest point right above the 3rd brake light. Copied NwiTACO's idea :p

Mounted my flag mount in the front since Mark told me ideally it was suppose to be in the front.

After finally completing my rear lights it was time to hide those stupid wires from the outside, so I got some zip tie pads or w/e and zip tied the wires up.

    Viola.

    And a special pic :p

Looks good! Good idea on the highlift mount but you r really gonna want wingnuts. You dont want to have to get a wrench every time you need ur jack. Just my two cents

I was going to ask If you ever have any plans on upgrading parts to make it road legal, or in a state that can safely travel at highway speeds. However after seeing the close enough front drive shaft mod i'm guessing that's a no.

Cage most likely isn't road legal for starters. Beadlocks and full hydro are illegal as well. I rather not downgrade parts to make it legal IMO. Front drive shaft never turns unless hubs are locked or I'm in 4wd which neither would occur on the road, unless when at the parks. Besides my rear ds isn't straight at all. Works good enough for me

Is the full cage really necessary for the rear since you have the bed beefed up anyway? If you ended the cagr at the cab it would make it look alot less 'insect' like. Just an idea.
