ATF fluid-WS

I have been reading on BITOG, and the low viscosity WS has. Any reports on Max life ATF????

 

Thanks Chris!! I guess I'm partial to Valvoline since I work for them. I get to see and tour the products lab once or twice a year and its pretty amazing all the stuff they do back there. I know all the tests they run on fluids. One concern though:

I dont know the "viscosity" of MAX ATF as compared to WS. I researched on BITOG and couldnt find it.

I can also get MAX atf for basically free.

Any info on the viscosity of these two fluids. I'm sure I can find it at work, but I am off untill Tuesday and wont have access to any of the stuff???

 

So what is the scoop with Valvolines supposedly fully Synthetic oil. Is it just a type III severely hydrocracked oil? Or is it truely a synthetic PAO or ester based type IV or better?

 

Found out today that MAX ATF has a Viscosity of 7, not 5. It doesn't meet the recommended viscosity, but does meet all the other requirements.

 

Don't know exactly man. I'll have to research some stuff at work on your specific question. Luckily, I'm not one of the Chemist back there. What I do know, is that the lab that tested the Mobil 1 vs Synpower, is an independent lab with no ties to Valvoline. I also know that they tested the crap out of synpower oil in abunch of "oil tests." We have an awesome R&D lab, and chemists that are top notch and smarter than I'll ever be. I will try to find you some info.
