A UWS LOW PROFILE tool box! Sorry I know this post is completely useless but I couldn't help it... For anyone still on the fence about ordering one, I wouldn't hesitate. I've seen a lot of truck tool boxes, but this one is AMAZING.

That is all, carry-on Tacoma World.

Nice looking toolbox. Considering one myself. Where did you order from? Decent price?

Well to answer your question no I did not get it for a decent price. I paid $400 shipped for it, I've seen it a little cheaper by not much, but I really wanted to order it from a reputable company with a solid return policy because I've heard so many horror stories of people ordering truck tool boxes and having them completely banged up in shipping. I ordered it from Summit Racing.

For anyone interested the correct UWS part # for a 2001-2004 Double Cab Tacoma is TBS-60-A-LP-BLK. Install time, 10 minutes. Perfect fitment.

Wish I had gotten one of these or a Tractor Supply one, mines half that width about Kobalt for $150, its so flimsy and cheap never closes right even after adjusting it and shit:mad:

Sure thing. I'd HIGHLY recommend you order it from either Summit Racing or an in-town dealer that way if it does come banged up you won't be out of luck.

Thanks guys. Honestly on a scale of 1 to 10, the fitment is a 10. It's so perfect even I'm pretty sure it was designed specifically for this truck, for these years 01-04. I believe the width is 60". There are no gaps, no overlaps, everything down the the smallest 1/4 inch of space when the lid opens to touching the back window is flawless.

Saw a chrome one sitting in a Toyota salvage yard a couple of days ago , I think I might go back tomorrow and check it out and what it fits , he only does Tacoma's and Tundra's , I might get lucky and it could follow me home . I picked one corner up and remembered thinking this is heavier and better made than most boxes , much better locking latches . I didn't check for dents or anything so it might be damaged and I wouldn't want it , even if it fit the 01-04 Tacoma's . I have been thinking of a topper for my truck and that might happen even if I bought the box . I could then use that box as a deck add-on in my boat .

I didn't get lucky , box was for a Tundra and dented on the left corner of the lid , didn't effect opening or closing of the box .

Keep looking on Craigslist. I found one after months of searching for $225 but I hesitated and I called the guy back and it was sold. So I had fork over the money and pay for it full retail price. Oh well I'll know next time.

I will . The salvage yard owner said he had three 1st. generation Tacoma boxes a couple of weeks before and most times has at least a couple on hand , I only want one of the UWS low-profile boxes and am willing to wait to find one , he didn't understand why I only want the UWS . He didn't say how many boxes he might go thru before another UWS low-profile passes thru his yard . I want what I want and if I am paying I will get it .
