Transmission dipstick impossible to put back in?

Hey all, i took out my ATF dipstick to look at levels, and i cant get the bastard to go back in. I can get about 1 foot of it in before it just fucking stops. I tried pushing and twisting and nothing is working. Nothin is lodged in there, just the damn thing wont slide back in. Any help or tips?

 

Can't push and twist. They can be a bear. Rotate like 30 degrees and try to insert again. Pull out and rotate it a little more.

 

Have you tried ky jelly?


edit: opps...just read your talking about your transmission dip stick. My bad.

 

Yeah mine is real hard to put back in. Just wiggle and shove

I had to grab it close to the metal, and jam down really hard on it. It was a absolute pain in the ass.

Lessons learned today: Dont trust firestone, ever. Dont check your tranny dipstick unless you are adding ATF to help lube it.

 

Yea they can be a beeyotch to put in sometimes. I just rotated it until it kinda went in ok.
