Ok so i have been wanting to drop a turbo in my taco (2008 4cylinder 2.7L) for a few months or so. I haven been trying to do some research but everything i find either doesnt have enough info for me or it just contradicts some other info i have found. If any of you know of a good turbo or have any info on somethin good for a daily driver but still has enough performance to dust a few cars here and there i would appreciate the feed back thanks.

Modding a engine for a turbo and daily driving aren't associated with each other. If you want a daily driver don't do extreme mods, lifts or go four wheeling in it. Those are fun things for a project vehicle.

You can totally have a turbo or lift or whatever you want and still daily drive it.

I had an 11PSI supercharger on my daily driving truck.

To the OP you should check out: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/4-cylinder/27036-turbo-build.html
and talk to Dually- He seems to know his stuff for Turbocharging. Good luck finding something!!

If done right, it can still be a DD, and be very reliable.:)

^^ Take him up on his offer to help. Dually's turbo mod has thus far been clean, well designed, and on the cheap. If you have the time and determination, he'll be able to help guide you in getting your truck how you want it.

Cosign again- It didn't cost me any more money or time under the hood/at the shop for maintenance.

Getting the tune right and getting the stuff installed is another story-but doing it right was worth it- I could pull anything I needed to with that truck.

If you mean this turbo, it's for the 2RZ or 3RZ. The +05 4 bangers are the 2TR. ;) Do you intend on modding it to make it work?
