I don't have a to deal with that either! Babies don't have the motor skills yet, but they do have their own alert system...

To anyone that gives a shit, I hate Drager vents, and their alarms, with every ounce of my being. That is all.

Negative on the nursery work. I like the criticals vents, oscillators, jets, INO and all that mess. I am not a big fan of the change them, feed them and let em sleep babies.

I'm married to a nurse & she hates it. My mother is a nurse also....and hates it. I'm guessing this might be the norm? :D

No, not the norm. But it is stressful and spending 12 hours with a shit head for a patient is hirrible and increasing common.

Another Murse here. MICU RN for 1.5 years, CCRN. I could only see myself doing intensive care bedside nursing. But only 6-8 more months of that, THEN I start my Nurse Anesthesia program in either June or August of next year! Now I just have to pick which program invitation I am going to accept. Choosing between programs has been more stressful than the application process.

Congrats Kyle! KU puts out great CRNAs from what I've seen. We had clinical rotations down here in Pitt from 1995 to perhaps 2005ish and then shut down for a few reasons. Used to be a 30 month programs iirc, but now 36 months..?

KU's program is a 36 month DNP program now. I was accepted there but I think I am going to decline their invitation. I am just ready to get the shit rolling. So tired of having to ask for every little order from a doctor!

Went to college for CJ, spent 3 years as a correctional officer but got tired of that in a hurry. Back in school this past semester to be an RN.

I am really glad I came across this thread! I am currently going to school to get my prerequisites out of the way for the ADN program. I am really looking forward to become a nurse and it is really nice to see that there are quite a few murses on this site. My ultimate career goal is to become a CRNA.

Hey guys and dolls, I am a retired Respiratory Therapist who worked in Georgia for about 31 yrs. I was involved in every aspect of patient care from Neonatal Nursery, Emergency Room, pulmonary and general care floors, all ICU's including Post Cardiac Surgery, clinical coordinator and departmental management. Have been retired for about 2 years now. Although I don't miss the work, per se, I do miss the routine and the human contact. Didn't expect to be this lonesome. Guess I will have to pour myself into my fishing.

Took a CNA job on the orthopedic unit while I'm in school. I'm honestly a little surprised they hired me since I have no prior experience. Loving the job though!
