trimming for tires??

    ok just got some 285/75/16 km2s, ive posted about 285s before. the guy at my local 4x4 place "extreme machines" in hickory said they would fit no problem with a 16x8 he said i may have to trim my plastic. is this true?? i have 5100s at 2.5 up front and toytec AAL in the rear.

    yup most likely with have to trim or live with rubbing

    hey actually I just realized you are a first gen. Although I still think you may need to trim let someone with more experience chime in!

    getting there....
    if you are running them with stock wheels.....you'll probably need wheel spacers, and remove the mud flaps and you'll still have to trim a bit too.

    well....you should be ok on not rubbing on the uca's then, but you'll still have to do some trimming.

    well....you'll have to cut some plastic outta the way so that the tires wont rub on it........like part of the front bumper trim maybe, maybe some of the fenderwell....just depends really.

    they have a 30 day exchange period...is there another tire that wont take as much work?? i just feel with 265/75s you wont be able to tell any change

    well.....im just gonna say...im happy as hell with my 265/75/16 tires.....perfect fit.....no trimming of anything.

    in the front, with the 881 coils and 5100's, i gained 2 inches, and the rear,with the wheelers 5 pack leafs....i gained 1.5 inches.

    they are the same height approx as a 285/75

    you still may have to trim the backside of the fender liner and hammer down the pinch weld
