    Why?? I would have LOVED to spend time with my dad if he'd been around to work on his vehicle. It would have been "us" time. We never had any, except for Sunday afternoons watching movies he wanted to watch. I hated doing girly stuff... :notsure:

    If you don't, you will regret it later on

    :notsure: I usually take a couple of days around the holidays and I signed up to work at a dogsled race this year. If they select me then I hope to be working one of the checkpoints along the route and that will be a couple of days off too.

    If you wait until she's 14 or 15, she won't want to work on cars... she'll be interested in clothes or BOYS!!!!

    Hmmmm I remember reading here a couple of weeks ago that there will soon be a shortage of auto mechanics... can you guess why??

    but wouldn't you want your hypothetical kid - boy or girl - to be self reliant in life and be able to take care of themselves? got to teach them things early on to plant that seed of curiosity in their brains.
    I was around power tools and what not since I was a kid and dad was very clear that some things were off limits for safety sake. I respected that and we never had an issue
    i hope so but it will most likely be waking up at 3am to welcome in a dog team, go through their required gear checklist and assist the vets while they check the dogs. Lots of paperwork and what not.
