    Native Southern Californian here...lived there for the first 24 years of my life (I'm 26 now :D).

    For the most part, Huntington Beach is a beautiful place. Sure every city/town will have its less-than-desirable locations, but that beach city is beautiful. If you really want scenic, take a drive down the 55-South to Newport Beach and hang out there. Very nice.

    Santa Monica is ok, but keep in mind traffic is HORRIBLE in and out of there during the week and during parts of the weekend. If you don't mind throngs of tourists, the pier is a nice place to take in the sights.

    Southern Orange County is awesome, if you end up staying near Huntington Beach.

    Oh and of course there's Disneyland and South Coast Plaza (mall) if you and/or your lady are into shopping. :D

    Your plan sounds like fun, let me know if you want any help with that when you get to doing it. Keep in mind each crossfit cert costs $1k.

    since we talk about our phones more than wheeling now I would like to say that I have had every iphone except the 5 and yesterday my brother came over with his samsung galaxy s2 and I got to say unless apple comes up with something amazing for the iphone other than relocating the head phone jack I might be buying a galaxy
