Ok I found one thing a HATE. when you lock the doors and you use the handle to open it. It doesn't you have to lift the pin then pull handle.

I love my taco. If it were perfect there would be no need to mod (part of fun, but expensive). Only significant issue is mpg. Not big enough to warrant a Prius obviously.

I have a regular cab and I hate the huge blind spot over my left shoulder. Basically, to check my blind spot, I not only have to turn my head but I have to extend it towards the window so I can look between the headrest and the back of the B pillar for a very slim view through the back window. The procedure is not safe to do quickly. What is this, a 53 Chevy without the 5 window (glass on the corner of the cab) option?

Or you could properly adjust your side mirror so a quick glance to check the small blind spot that's there is sufficient... just say'n. I've never had to check through my rear window...

I had a 91 toy that i just beat the hell out of for over 200k miles and it just kept on running. hated trading it in 10 yrs ago but had no choice as it was falling off the frame. couldnt quite afford another so I ended up waiting a few yrs and picked up an 05 dakota. with 30k miles on it i was replacing springs, tranny lines, rotors and brakes every 1500 miles, it spent more time down than running, got maybe 8mpg. while looking for a used toy i found that new was only a couple k more, so wife said BUY IT, WOOOOOOHOOOOO. been wanting another one since i got rid of first one.

    I LOVE MY TUCK.

have only done piddly things such as nerf bars, visors, bug shield, wethertechs, tinted windows, will get bull bar and maybe some other minor things but everyone loves my truck. I watch people check it out all the time. friends and family jealous. Just cant beat the tacoma. my wish list is all stupid little shit that can be modded if I was mechanically inclined at all but not. have less than 1k miles on it and have had it for 2 months so no problems of any kind yet and I hope I get the same durability I got from my 91. never had a single problem with the 91 that i didnt cause myself LOL. no video on phones back then but man i wish there was to show the stupid stuff i did with that truck and it kept on running. Awesome to find other who feel the same as me. greets to all tacoma lovers

I have played with the adjustment of the side mirror and from where I sit (I'm 5.9), any vehicle short of a Chevy Tahoe can be hidden completely from front to back in my blind spot. I am going to add a little convex stick-on mirror even though I've never had the need for such a device on the driver's side of any vehicle I've owned.

IMO, the ONLY mid-sized truck option on the market. If I could change anything, first would be to replace the 4.0 with the 4.7 V8 out of my wife's '05 4Runner. Second would be no VSC. Third would be better brakes. I'm very happy with the truck, but that would make it perfect.

I'm stuck between: I dislike a lot of things about it, but there are a few things about it that I really like and Absolute piece of isht, I would never buy another one in a million years.
I would like to think that maybe the one I bought is just a TuRD, but that's what I get for going against my own advice about not buying someone else's problems, I mean about not buying used.

Ok. I lock the door (manual locks). If I want to get out I can't just pull the door handle on the inside and it will unlock. I have to pull the door lock thingy by the glass idk the name

Only had it for a few months and 4600 miles. Love it. A very early poster in this thread states that if he had to, like if he totalled it, he'd buy another just like it. There are no options, in my opinion. It's not been that long since I went into the market for a new truck and I did my research, drove every brand, many models of mid-sized trucks, and I think I did the best I could have done.

Wandering around is probably from the lift/tires and the vibration is probably from warped rotors. So I would not necessarily blame that on being a bad vehicle. The dash lights out that sucks and I don't know what a CEL is call me a noob.

Nick, didn't you do a LED swap on the gauge cluster?...

Also x2 for warped rotors. Wondering.... suspension issue most likely or bad tire pressure. Being how old it is, your bushings are probably going out and need replacing... standard maintenance...
