I think our defense can contain their offense with Shaw and Lattimore decent. Probably will allow a few touchdowns, but it's understandable. I think a big key to UGA winning is how our O line matches up with their D line. If we can control the line of scrimmage our offense can outscore theirs. Even if our defense gives up a few good plays. I'm also questioning how good they really are after how they played in week one against vandy and the other night against Kentucky. But you could almost say the same about us against Tennessee, then again Tennessee is not exactly a pushover. I'm not gonna make any crazy predictions, but I will say that if UGA can be running on all cylinders with offense and defense, and stay disciplined, and on assignments, they can play with the best this year. How ever the season turns out, I'm a dawg fan at the end of the day.

It looks like it's coming together. They are playing with more focus and seem more mature when they execute plays. We will see.....

I agree with this, I think our o line is key on how they handle their defensive front.

Ya'll don't take my comments the wrong way, I'm a Dawg fan til I die. I just don't know if Richt will bring us a championship. I used to say he would bring one all the way back to his 1st year but now have my doubt's. But this year is the year for him to prove it starting with this weekends game. I hate to say it but when is the last time we've beaten a top 10 team? We haven't had a big win in a long time. I like Richt and want him to stay and succeed, I'm just not sure he can. If he is just gonna be "good" every year I'm ready to move on, I want to be "great" and win a championship in my adult lifetime. I think he is a great man, I just don't know if he brings enough mental toughness to win it all.

With all that said, I think if our D can return to what we had late last year we can win it all with the offense we have now. Go Dawgs!

Are you going to the game? With those fools from espn being there, it's going to be a crazy atmosphere. Did I mention I can't stand those bastards? At any rate, it's going to awesome. I will make next year's game in Athens!

IIRC, Richt is something like 3-4 against top 10 teams. Our D will get there, have patience grasshopper.

No....got to work till 7pm. I'll be listening on the radio until I get home, then it's beer time in front of the big Plasma. And with GameDay being in town, it'll be too crazy for me. They'll have at least 120K people around that stadium tailgating.

I know...honestly, as much as I like to go to games (although haven't been in a few years due to us being stationed so far away, I would rather watch it on tv...its not that I don't mind the crowds (but at the same time I do), I like being able to see replays and all that... That place is going to be rockin...Hopefully we can put the lights out early!:D

I wouldnt say it would be your offensive line blocking your defensive line as much as I would say how much holding your lineman get away with.

BTW isnt Murray 2-8 against ranked teams (only wins vs. Auburn and GT)?
Night game at home in Columbia with gameday in town, I like our chances.

I think that its a toss-up. Whoever makes the least mistakes wins. BTW, I didn't realize that it was Murray by himself and not a team effort.

2 reasons I think the longhorns beat the couch burners.
    1. Ball control. Since we lost to bama a couple of years ago we have been changing into a ground and pound type offense. We are getting really good at it. So they won't have the ball on offense very much.

    2. The equipment managers went and bought a pair of scissors so our DB will have arm holes in their jerseys this week so they can tackle and not just bounce off of the receivers.

    Final score
    Texas 48-21

If you're wanting to talk about holding, didn't SC barely squeak by Vandy in the last seconds with a blatant, but uncalled pass interference? East Carolina and UAB are gimmie games; Vandy should have been too. SC played Missouri with their starting quarterback injured, but still had the same margin of points that UGA played them at with their starting quarterback healthy. Kentucky should have been a gimmie game for SC, but they were losing at the half.. against UK's backup quarterback.

Nope, Georgia's D hasn't been that impressive this year. But they have the potential to be. This was the first game UGA had all starters back. And for the matter of the score last week, if people actually watched the game or looked at the game play, instead of just watching the sportscenter highlight reel, they would realize that the defense played fine. Considering that Bray is possibly one of the best Qb's in the SEC, and that Tenn. came by 21 of those points basically given to them. 7 of them from a pick, and the other 14 from fumbles they got inside the 20. Also consider that UGA forced 3 turnovers in the final 3 drives of Tenn. UGA D will play better next week; numbers don't exactly mean everything. Just like that 6th ranked scoring defense of SC doesn't, allowing the last ranked teams in the SEC (vandy and kentucky) to play with them, score the most all year on them, and be losing to both of them at some point.

Totally agree. Numbers/stats mean nothing, but there are those who live by them. For instance, that 6th ranked scoring D of USCe's - three of those games were against FBS teams that ranked, 100+ in offensive production? Once again, stats are meaningless. USCe has a great D and I will be the first to admit it - well, a great line but suspect backfield. I have a feeling that we haven't seen each team's best.
A lot of people are quick to jump on GA's D numbers in the TN game. Kind of hard to really shut the run down when 2 deep safeties are played the entire game. I think that TN is better than many think - top 25? Probably not, but not one to be underestimated. In fact, Grantham himself stated that they weren't concerned w/ TN's ground game. People expected the returning starters to jump in after four games w/ no rust what so ever - that is a load of sh*t in itself. But there are delusional ones who will disagree. As I said before, sit back and enjoy the game - its going to be one for the ages...

SC's D line is incredible, no doubt about it. They'll be wreaking havoc in our backfield. But, the thing is, we have more options than we've had in the past few years. If they're destroying Murray, call a draw and hand it off to one of our baby backs or throw a screen. Once they start getting gashed up the middle by "Gurshall", they'll back off and play the run. That's when we get the ball to Wooten or Bennett or Mitchell or Brown

Their defensive front will get their fair share of hits and hurries, but I think they'll be a little more limited than they're expecting.

That being said, it all depends on Bobo...
