Aight I'm lost, cold, and a little scared... I have an OME lift with LR UCA. I am looking at 2 different wheels but can't figure out if they will rub the UCA. Will either of these fit with out needing spacers and about how much further will they stick out over stock?

[IMG] (pic does not show 6 on 5.5 but specs below do)
    Part Number: BRW900S786045

    • Wheel Size: 17x8
    • 6 on 5.5 Bolt Pattern
    • Offset: 0
    • Backspace: 4.5
    • Max Load: 2200
    • Finish: Tungsten

This is the other wheel I am interested in. About the only spec I can find is that is a 16in wheel. Would this fit a 285 tire with out rubbing the UCA?

    Thanks for the help!!

The first one will be fine. The second one is called a Toyota Baja wheel, and I believe it is 5.5" bs, meaning you would need spacers for 285s

Is this why the factory 17" Sport wheels I want for my 2012 RC are 8" wide,
At least I think they are, is there a cheaper option in tire sizes for that wheel on a stock 4x4 suspension?

The first one will stick out 2" more than stock. The second one will be about the same as stock.
Stock sport wheels are 7.5" wide.

265/70/17 is all you can go on stock suspension

Posting pictures of my new 2012 Tacoma. Fuel Throttle wheels, 17x9 -12mm Offset with 265-65-17 Tires. Was not sure if the 265-70s would fit, so was a little conservative in the choice of tire size. Still very pleased with the results. No rubbing anywhere with stock suspension, just in case anyone was wondering.

Have the same offset as you and running 265 70 17 and rubed. Even after i trimed it still rubs when i break hard and turn and turning into a driveway at speed. However it doesnt rub at full lock. 5100's sitting in the garage waiting for me have some time..:D

Originally I was going with the 265-70-17's myself. With the -12 offset, I'm glad I went with the 265-65-17's. I have no rubbing at all, and I'm sure with any bigger size I would've needed mods or lifts. I also like the look of the negative offset on truck. I had those rims mounted on my FJ, and did not look nearly as good as they do on my Taco.

well i have no regrets. a little trim here and there and some billies set at 1.75 will fix it up like new. plus i love the look with the 265 70 with the neg offset. Im sure when it comes time for new tires ill be getting 285s. AH I cant wait till next weekend so i can get these bad boys installed.

KPT, im hoping you can help me. you seem very knowledgable

I called summit to place my order and they cant seem to tell me if they will fit. They have numerous steel wheels on there site. so im looking at 16x8 with a bolt pattern of 6x5.5, here are my options

    4.25 backspace and a -6 offset

    or 4 backspace with a -12 offset

i dont care if they stick out a bit, i actually kind of like that. I just want to make sure they clear the calipers.

    2003 4 door tacoma trd 2wheel drive

local tire shops are telling me that steel wheels will not fit period

    :confused::confused::confused:

Hello all; I have spent a lot of time reading posts, and I've only touched the tip of the iceberg. I can't believe the knowledge that's flying around here.

I really like ScubaTacoma's combo. I'm in the Western PA area, I work in Cranberry Township, if anyone is near and wants to meet up.

Please forgive me, I'm not up to speed with the terminology yet, I just bought a 2012 Tacoma, SR5, 4X4, Extended cab. The stock steel wheels and 245s are driving me insane, i don't really like them.

I am looking into wheels/tires and i need help, i am not going to put a lift on. I am definitely open for suggestions.

    A few questions:
How important is it that the wheel be "hub centric"?
How important is the Center Bore Diameter?

I am currently considering the following:

    http://4wheelonline.com/XD801_-_Crank_Matte_Black.168612.619707
    17x9
    0mm offset
    5" BS

    http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MTT-1179412/
    17x9
    -12mm offset
    4.5" BS

    http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MTO-9517960312/
    17x9
    -12mm offset
    4.5" BS

    http://4wheelonline.com/KMC_XD796_Revolver_Wheels_Matte_Black.136409.458876
    17x9
    -12mm offset
    4.5"BS

I'm probably a year out from pulling the trigger on anything, but I'd like to know my options and start getting some pricing. My dilemma - tires. I haven't even started looking at tires yet, i'm thinking i'll just go with something like the BF Goodrich, A/T KOs in 265/65R17. I'd like something moderately aggressive, but that will hold up to quite a bit of highway driving. I'm trying to keep this project relatively inexpensive. I'm thinking i'll be around $1,400 for wheels and tires. My goal is next year, around this time.

I don't want to lift, add wheel spacers, or trim anything.

Any information/insight/opinions would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know what you guys think for wheels and tires.

Sorry for the long winded post.

    Thanks in advance

    Another annoying request.

    Wheel Size: 16X8
    6 on 5.5 Bolt Pattern
    Offset: -12
    Backspace: 4
    Tacoma 2003 4x4 with Bilstein 5100/toytec coilovers
    Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac LT285/75R16E1 126P W

Would all this fit together without rubbing?

    Thanks for helping

Ok, I hate to just follow suit and continue with the same question but I'm afraid I am going to. I am kinda new to the wheel and tire game so I need info and possibly advise.

    • 18x9 wheel size
    • 6 on 4.5 and 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern
    • Backspace = 5.71in.
    • Offset = 18mm

    • LT305/60R18
    • Overall Diameter = 32.6

Those 17x9s with the 4.5 bs will work fine. Make sure the tire you select is approved for 9" wide wheels in 265
It will be close at the uca. I'd wait for someone with a first gen to chime in
Those will not work, the wheels have far too much backspacing. Try to find them in 4.5". Even then you would have to trim for 285s. 305s will require even more trimming, and a cab mount chop

    Will a stock 16" 2000 Tacoma alloy (non-trd) fit on a 2nd gen 2010 with 265 70 16 tires.

My understanding is that they will actually sit further outboard of the truck than the stock steel wheels I have on it now.

So, in a nutshell will 1st gen wheels with stock size tires fit on a 2nd gen Tacoma

    Thanks for the help.
