You mean to say you accept checks from people who you don't know? Or did I misunderstand what you mean? I've had people want to have me finance the purchase. Fat chance of that. I am a cash man even if I know the buyer.

I bought my Taco on CL. I drove an hour with 10 large in my pocket. I was driving it home an hour after that.

A week later I sold my F150 on CL.

    No problems with either transaction

You just have to have your wits about you.

I love craigslist. I buy and do a lot of business on craigs. I just bought a usaspec pa15 for 40! And a few months ago someone paid me an extra 150 bucks to hold my dirtbike for another week because I told him someone else wanted it. Lol.

If something seems like a scam it probably is. I don't use CL much. I did buy my boat off CL. Paid with cash in hand.

im just saying who walks around with a few G's cash on them ?? Unless your balling, or a drug dealer I would think you might need to visit the bank and pull the money out ?

Even If I was a serious buyer I wouldn't let the seller know I have the cash on me.. So if there was a craiglist ad for a car for sale in compton at a price that sounds too good to be true would you risk going and getting robbed?

If it was too good to be true I wouldn't even be going. Too many too good to be true deals are stolen property. No sense encouraging them. I also do not like going to a private home for a purchase and do not like others coming to my place to see what I might be selling. I don't like to be placed inside their place where I could be jumped and I don't like others coming to my place as they then get to see all the other stuff I want to keep; maybe they are going to case the place. .... I like to meet someplace with people traffic. I know not everyone is dishonest, but I spent too much time working in retail loss prevention and then later in bank debit card fraud.

Well its not like he's implying he carries that kind of money around at all times. But if I'm going to look at something I'm gonna have the money I've had people sell stuff from under me when I said I'd take it but had to get the money and someone else showed up cash in hand.

As far as your example if it sounds too good to be true and its in the hood I'm not going regardless of having cash in hand or not.
