    Hey guys...

I have a 2013 Tacoma TRD sport long bed Double Cab. I am about to buy a JL Audio Stealthbox that comes with the 2 10" W1v2 subwoofers..What amp should i use? I was thinking the JL audio 1000/1 amp, but wondering if you all have a different opinion?

Also, for the doors should i use the JL audio Components? If so, which Amp?

All the shops give different answers cause they are trying to sell me their products. I know JL Audio, and i had a W7 in the car, not a truck (Wish it fit in here though).

If you know of something other system that would be great info. I plan on purchasing something ASAP. Maybe today!

    Thanks in advance.

I think a jl 1000/1 is waaaay too much for a pair of w1's. Why don't you contact jl and ask them what they recommend? I would guess something like a jl slash 250/1

My brother had the 250/1 on 1 10" w3 and it was plenty of bass to rattle mirrors and be heard a block away.

My advice if you want to power the door speakers as well is to get a nice 5 channel amp. I have the Kenwood xr5s (?). It fits under the passenger seat perfectly, and you would only need to worry about wiring up 1 amp. It would have plenty of power for you.

Jl door speakers are nice. My brother had the c3's and i have focal v30's. You cant go wrong with a nice set of jl or focal. Do not get the entry level speakers, go mid line or better

Thanks, I had emailed JL right after i posted this. I want to utilize the subs power as much as possible, but at the same time don't want to blow them.

I heard about the C3's and the same as what you said.

I have experience with the JL Audio W7's in my past couple of cars, and they are great, but wont fit in here and still have passenger space.

What about Dynomat, do you think its worth it?

Kenwood's XR5 S is an amazing amp. 1 Amp to run all the speakers, and is small as well.

There's going to be a huge difference between the w1's in the stealthbox to w7's. The stealthbox will give it a little bump, instead of rattle your brain like w7's.

I did install some sound deadening, but I used Raamat. Super nice guy, fast shipping, and much cheaper than dynamat.

I just spoke with JL Audio. They told me they were coming out with a single 10" sub for the 2013 at the end of the year so you wont have the cut any part of the inside, and supposed sounds similar to the dual's. That's to long for me. Haha. They said the XD 600/1 Amp and Stealthbox will be perfect for the truck, and should be the best bang for the buck. Also i plan on using Dynomat.

Already have the box ordered, now looking for that Amp. Then a few weeks on for Components and another Amp

    Thanks Everyone for the help

Hey Abir, am running that exact setup JL audio recommended for you: the jl stealthbox for 2nd gen tacos (2 ten-inchers) and jl's XD600 mated to it. went with JL's 4-channel XD400 for Focal brand 6.5" polyglass components for drivers. very satisfied overall. for those unaware, JL's stealthboxes are just that, stealth, meaning there is no discernible notice of a premium system installed as they fit within the tacos storage space behind the rear seats, while maintaining full use of the cabspace :D

Perfect!...I'm looking into some of the components with JL audio as well. They recommended a XD400/4 amp for me too when i decide on which one to go with. Looking at the C5 6.5, but i know i will have to dynomat the doors at that point too. I forgot how expensive JL gets!

Did you Dynomat the doors with the Focal's? You have a youtube video up by any chance? hah

sorry, no vids (noticed vehicle audio vids aren't terribly popular here on TW :() i went with a highly reputable shop here in town (the owner was a former competitor in car audio contests) and believe it or not, he did not recommend ANY form of sound-dampening material, believing it would rob sound quality, particularly in a newer vehicle which should not suffer a tremendous amount of operational interference, which mine was at the time, as is yours now :D A point such as this could be argued vigorously i'm sure, though TW is perhaps not the best forum for it

I'm thinking about going with the dual 10-inch Stealthbox, C5-650s in the front and C2650-xs in the rear and a JL Audio XD700/5 pushing them all.

    Would the XD700/5 be enough?
