They are what made the deal for me. I tried looking online but couldn't find them. I'm sure they are there but I only searched for a few hours.

i think you pay taxes on the overall price of the vehicle regardless of trade in or Down….

Sales tax trade-in reduction depends on the state.

In Colorado, you can reduce the gross sales price of new equipment by the value of any trade-in when calculating the amount subject to sales taxes as long as the traded-in property will be sold at retail. This means that, in theory, if you sold a customer a car, you could still get the reduction even if you took a tractor as a trade-in.

However, in Illinois, you can only reduce the sales price if the trade-in is similar to the property purchased So, if you're selling cars, your customer is going to have to trade in a car, not a tractor, to get this reduction.

Many states, such as Michigan, do not allow any trade-in deduction from the purchase amount subject to sales tax (although many of these states make exceptions for vehicles.) If you take trade-ins as part of your business, you should contact your state's taxing authority in order to find out what their requirements are for reducing the sales amount by the value of a trade-in.

I'm pretty sure in FL they deduct the tradein from the taxable amount, i've never traded in a car myself

Anybody familiar with "Toyota Vehicle Special Purchase Program"?
It's basically a discount for employees and family of employees.
    From participating dealers you get:
    "dealer's total invoice price
    -minus reserve
    -minus wholesale finance reserve
-plus any dealer installed options and accessories
-plus applicable document fees, tax, title, reg. fees
The buyer will also receive the benefit of the applicable National Incentives as listed on Attachment A" (for 2012 it was $400 for Tacomas.)

So, is this likely to be a major savings or just a lot of fluff where someone could do just as good by negotiating?

I will have to order my truck because I want a Base 4x4 AC V6 MT and those are hard to find here.

In CT , if you have a trade in the amount gets deducted from your total value and you only pay sales tax on the remainder .

For example if you buy a 30k truck , trade in a 10k vehicle . You pay sales tax on 20k .

I just purchased the same truck , but price was cheaper but due to the hight CT Taxes out the door came out higher .

I Internet shopped for my truck aswell , and most dealers would pretty much give me the run around and tell me to come in and wouldn't give me a price on the phone or through email . One dealership in MA gave me a great price right off the bat , and unjust went with it . Was such a nice hassle free transaction.

overstock.com can get you a good # to start with, plus you can print price certificates to specific dealers….

Hopefully putting a deposit down tomorrow on a:
2013 Tacoma DCSB V6 4x4 MGM, auto, TRD OR, Tow, tint, carpet mats, tube steps.
    $31250 +TTL.

Wasn't really looking for steps or mats, but at least it doesn't have Toyoguard which I would have paid the same money for around here. I am also trying to trade the mats back for a sat radio antenna or bed mat since I'm getting weathertechs. I'm happy with it overall though.
