Maybe we could set up some sort of Captain Planet type system.

Business degrees are a waste? Well thanks a lot! Where were you 6 years ago when I dumped nearly $30K in an MBA!

if i started my own pool store i would need very little/no training. but thats not what im wanting to do.

i thought it would be pretty cool to own my own tool store. like wither start my own or do a franchise like northern tool or ACE

I worked for an Ace for 5 years. When I was leaving, the owner wanted me to buy the store from him. I wish I would have found a way to make it happen.

I have to ask... mind citing your source? There are exceptions to the rule; but the general rule is you get out of your degree what you put into it. Don't expect to make millions when you are working for someone else.

I have already met quite a few people who know a field and everything about it; but running a business is more than knowing about a field. There are budgets, taxes, books to keep, employees to manage, and nine times out of ten loans to acquire to start-up or expand. A business is not about being an expert about a topic; it is about being an expert and still running a good office.

This is a perfect example of a good business model. Keith (the investor) hired subject matter experts (the different people) to run their departments. Keith knows he doesn't know everything; so he hired people who know what he doesn't know. A good business will always do this; a bad business will know everything.

    No worries; you'll be fine.

This will depend on Megan. She is headed home from work so I'll ask her once she has had a beer.

Have either of y'all tried the Ginger Man? It has good beer; not as wide of a selection, but cheaper than the Saucer. Also they have their own parking lot.

I was up there a couple weeks ago with some buddies. The menu isn't as big; but the food was ok and the beer was cold. Not to mention it was all cheaper than Flying Saucer.

Let me rephrase that. : Do not get just a business degree.

I'm not saying it's worthless, just in my opinion, not worth as much. It seems like half the kids that go to college end up getting some sort of business degree because they don't know what they want to do.

It was cracked before. And the fiberglass just wasn't cutting it.

    The previous owner did that.

    How, I don't know.

He had a ladder rack in the back for a while and my best guess is that he over loaded that and after a while, it just cracked the bed.

That means they wasted their time; it isn't the degrees fault they don't have a clue. Sadly business degrees were sold as the greatest thing since sliced bread. They just forgot to explain that unless you work for yourself all you are doing is managing someone else's business.

It is looking like a no to tomorrow night. She doesn't want to stay out late on a school night.
