You're best bet is to work under a good store right now while you take some business classes. When was the last time you balanced a ledger? Filed taxes? Prepared the paperwork for a business proposal? What about putting out a request for proposal?

I would suggest getting to the local community college for some business classes. A business degree with go a long ways to laying the foundation to what you need to know. Working under at a good small business should teach you the rest.

I would say finance or accounting. If you don't manage the books for your business it will fail. I see clients that dont have a clue what their overhead is and several don't do their taxes correct. The ones that have no clue are always broke and most go under. NEVER owe the IRS money. Their interest and penalties are crazy.
Also go talk to a counselor at your local community college. Tell them what your interests and passions are and build a degree plan that will benefit you.
Maybe look at UPS or Fedex. I heard one of those pays for school when you work part time.

I am in Business School right now, and it is great, you have to take bits of everything to graduate, marketing, accounting, finance, etc.

I agree, take some general business classes to get a feel for it. Community College is awesome because you can take classes as electives in different subjects that still count toward your degree, both associates and bachelors if you decide to go that far. Plus the cost of classes are very reasonable.

If you would like to know more about owning your own business, I can arrange for you to talk to my boss who owns the place that I am Assistant Manager of.

The Rangers have played gutless over the last month of the season.

i think you know the last time i did any of those things:rolleyes:

and ya thats what my plan was for right now

do my own and understand my own taxes, got it.

honestly i want to do as little schooling as i have to. all through high school all i could think 80% of the time is how little any of the classes mattered and how i would never use any of it. thats the main reason i dont want to get a degree. you have to take a bunch of unneeded bullshit classes. id rather take only the classes that will benefit me.
why are you doing business school out of curiosity?

    This is a crazy situation

I am doing Business because a Business Degree is a very marketable degree and was what most of the career paths that I was interested required. I plan on using my Business Degree with my Criminal Justice to possible do something along those lines.

Robert - the Rangers are really going to stress me out if they can't get their crap together.

Adam - you need to stop taking advice from your peers and start taking advice from people who have achieved what you want to achieve. Do your parents know anyone who has their own business? If so, ask that person(s) what will benefit you. I'm not trying to knock on the peers here; but really cannot tell you what we have not done. I'm close since I work at a successful two person business; but I still do not have to deal with a lot of the business office paperwork (thankfully).

Trust me - I want you to succeed because I do not know crap about stereos and I want a hook up.

Anyone else see the Cruz vs dumbass debate last night? I didn't but I did catch the highlights. It was awesome to see Cruz actually say that the Democrats are trying to get as many people on government aid as possible so as to have guaranteed votes. The Democrat called him crazy. lmao

This is exactly why I did the same. Business is a universal degree, and pretty much applies in every field.

X3... I have an MBA and only did so because of how universal it is. It doesn't give me all the answers for my business (I own a small consultancy shop), but gave me a good foundation for continued learning as my business progresses.
