    im a mechanical engineering student and your right, simple physics can explain that its a dumb set up. since the force is actually being applied away from the rotating axis point (where the leafs are touching the axle) this is creating a moment arm.

    this in turn makes uneccesary torque on the leaf set up. and over time (especially hitting big bumps) it will start to bend the leafs where the leafs meet the axle.


    now, if the force was applied directly on top of the axle. the moment arm would be zero, by definition

    This is with them about 5 weeks old as well, boss surprised me "can you go pick up some stuff with your truck" Next thing I know there's a fork lift loading a 572 pound pallet in the bed. I had one ratchet strap.

    Building you some isn't a problem, even shipping may not be that bad, my concern is what appears to be a small hump in the main spring, get me a couple pics, fairly close up, directly in front of area of concern no angled shots & truck bed empty, because if the main is bent then theres nothing i can do for ya....

    as you know leo we don't care about the neggy ARC its those nasty bends that kill the whole process...
