I am reading through the build thread and found this:

For some reason I thought this was on pavement and was like "WHAT THE FUCK?!" My 4.88's won't break one 33's loose on pavement unless I powerbrake it and even then it will only chirp it once or twice on launch.

 

I am pretty sure I heard it from you guys first at least refering to leaf packs.

 

Just looks like a way to get the bed and sides as short as possible.

 

It's just tired into e frame/ rear bumper. It's a cool rig for sure

It does exposé them a lot and he did hit them a couple to,es I'm lander..but I bet since he is on 40s it's not as big of an issue haha

 

I do like youre idea it's alot more simple than that other crap VW did, and then you could use a really big trubo. shaft positioning and sealing may be tricky.

He's not worried about hitting his shackles or his SUA leafs either. His argument for the leafs causing clearance problems was, "if I try to go over something and can't because of the leafs, I will just back up and hit it harder"

Everything on there is built pretty damn tough. Both if the bumpers were custom built by his friend.

He likes exo cages but decided the 2nd gen looks good enough that an exo cage would ruin it so they did an inner cage and made that partial exo cage on top into a roof rack that is tied into the inner cage.

 

fuck me. Had to run down to Ione, WA last night for a road side service on one of our rental trailers. Couldnt even get it fixed and it now getting towed this morning. Got back at 11:40pm....

 

Him and like 2-3 other guys threw the whole thing together in about 6 months for the UA competition. He drained his bank account and was working 2 jobs and took out some loans to build it. Haha. He got a good deal on most of the labor though and did a bunch of it himself as well.

 

$60K Im only gonna be 30K into mine when it's all said and done, no cage but SAS 40's fully hydro steering ARB's and an Atleas, SC armour and most of my other mods are done.

 

I like how the guy said it was one of the dumbest things he has ever done but at least it's a cool rig lol.





And I don't know about the Baka thing, it's a long time off work and school and costs a good chunk of change that would severely cut into my snowboard money. It would be a bad ass trip, but just doesent look something I need to do, and might just not be in the cards. I don't know what to do lol.

 

He is $30K into parts plus about $20K-30K for the rig initially, plus whatever labor went into it.
