    i just put 2 self tap screws through it.. ppl dont like putting holes on the bed rail but you dont have to use big a screws... and if you take the box off you can fill in the wholes with some bondo.

    i really wanted a black toolbox too so i bribed a buddy to sell me his for 50 bucks and painted her up :D

    Hey, quick question. I bought one used from a guy in town. Does the box include some kind of tape or something to put along the sides so the tray doesn't just slide around inside it?

    usually they fit pretty snug.. and you have to push it for it to move. i know mine doesnt slide on ots own and im sure if you put stuff in the tray, the weight will hold it too... if it slides you can always get some 3m tape or velcro

    ^This. The weight once you throw some tools in there will hold it and the fitment is pretty snug. But to answer your question no it does come with any kind of tape other than some 3M foam tape to put over the back rail so the box can rest on. It also comes with of course the inner tool tray, some J-hooks and and nuts, and two keys.

    Ok so they use foam tape. My dad thought of an idea and we put a bungy cord between the tray and piston thingy(derp..cant think of name for some reason)..but yea..he didnt have tape on his so it just slid on the metal lol

    If it REALLY bothered you you could always just drill a 1/8 hole on each end, and put 2 self tapping screws in it.

    i couldn't wait any longer! just got my new box in. I was going for a UWS but the guy said this box was also made by UWS and it was alot less $259! It did come with a UWS warranty document inside so i guess UWS does make it. I only need it to store my floor jack/jack stands/ jumper cables and other miscelaneous crap. Ill install it this weekend!!!

    guys.......i don't want to do the jhook install. I am going to do either a cariage bolt or a u bolt. My question is, once i drill the hole into the bed rail what can i use to protect the bare metal from rusting? Is rustoleum an applicable product in this case? Is there anything else i should use other than rustoleum?

    It shouldnt rust as long as the box is bolted down tight to where moisture cant get it. i used self tapping screws with little thick rubber washers. No water gettin in those holes

    Yea I used the foam tape to go in between the bed and the box, and drilled some pilot holes for some big azz wood screws that were anodized.
