    FWIW
    I used the rustoleum satin primer+paint in a can (gold can with a trigger sprayer) and it turned out great and seems to be durable (so far)

    almost just went online and ordered a new one...

    first problem:
    Took the whole damn winch apart including all the internal gears to re clock it. (move the operating handle)then we both looked at all the parts and finally figured out how to reassemble it (after realizing only the right side/cover needed to come off to clock the handle) All together...went to respool my line...handle will not lock into place....will spool in if you hold the handle tight and locked. (dunno about you...but if that cable snaps...I wanna be in my truck with the hood popped nice and shielded :p)
    took it apart again yesterday...realized we put in one of the gears backwards. rookie mistake...:laugh:
    locks in place and works 100% now :cool:
    not Shane's fault...but I need someone else to blame it on right?
