Customer service is the provision of service to customers before, during and after a purchase. According to Turban et al. (2002)[1], “Customer service is a series of activities designed to enhance the level of customer satisfaction – that is, the feeling that a product or service has met the customer expectation.”

I could give you the long 500 word essay on why I'm so disappointed but I'll just give you the short bullet version.

    1. Made initial order on April 10th. Immediatly attempted to make contact with company to make a change to my order. Finally got someone to call ME on the 13th. They have NO customer service number to call.

    2. Fixed my original order while on the phone with them and increased my order to a total of over $400.00. Was told my order would go out the next day, the 14th.

    3. Order was actually shipped on the 17th. So I put in to take 3 days off work (27th-29th) so I could do the install myself.

    4. While I was out of town on business, the order arrived (21st). I got home on the 26th to discover that I only got half my order!!! By this time it's too late to resend my 3 days off from work.

    5. On the 27th I got an email back from the company telling me the rest of my order would go out that day priority mail and should get it by May 1st. Well today is the 4th and it's not here yet.

Bottom line up front is this company is either overwhelmed and needs to invest in someone to answer a phone or just give up all together. I will never ever do business with them again and will encourage anyone I see/meet to do the same.

PS, MrMarv, I’ll be coming to you for the rest of my TACOtunes needs.

I recently inquired about a loaded sub box they had listed on their E bay store. Part of my question alluded to the recent bad press and what kind of shipping time I could expect. I was very respectful in my wording. No response at all. Their silence speaks volumes.

That sucks. Honesty is one of my biggest requirements. I don't mind waiting weeks or months for an item, but I wouldn't want to be told that it would be here in 2 days and have it take a week.

I remember your initial rant about them. I figured that you were just being a bit pissy, but the bad press (since the guy gets on here from time to time) would ensure that you recieved white glove treatment. Then they still manage to screw it up and not be completely transparent during the entire process... WOW.

I am a big MrMarv supporter, known of his work for a decade or so. I have never had or heard of people that have had issues with Marv, like they seem to have with *********.

Its a shame. I hope everything gets worked out for you ArmyBaller.

Heard plenty of bad rep for the customer service at *********. But boy, that sassy lady sure does show nice cleavage on her avatar. Talk about loaded sub boxes!!!
I started talking with Marv last month about a sub box/amp deck. I told him my install was going to be July to give him enough time to do things the way he is accustomed to.

When you order from a company that sells mass produced goods you could expect prompt shipment provided those mass produced goods are in stock.
When you order from Marv you are asking a craftsman to make a custom item with the attention and detail that only an artisan can provide.
Its ok to sock it to ********* if you want but don't expect Marv to be quicker than *********.
I have had wonderful conversations with Marv on lots of topics and consider him a friend. The kinda guy you wish lived next door.

Just as I know he will take the time to make a great product, he will also take the time to talk about how I'm gonna dial in my sound sytem when its installed.
Its your call. Go to the McDonalds of the Tacoma sound world or go to the best.

If you catch Marv at the right time, he will sometimes have items "in stock". He gets enough orders for baffles that he will make a dozen or so and it is not an issue to add another set.

But you are right, he doesn't always have stuff in hand to ship out that night. But you can be sure that he is going to build it with an acute sense of detail each and everytime.

It really seems like he takes pride in his work... novel concept for a business man.

    The BAD:
My modest order took 21 calendar days to get in my hands.
( front components speakers, front baffle, dash kit ).

Dash kit is already obsolete, but I haven't checked it out yet to see if I like it better than the metra I bought because I couldn't wait any longer to install the HU I just went to the local car toys and bought my own dash kit.

I have ordered A LOT of things since buying my truck a couple months ago ( see my profile ) . EVERYTHING ELSE Quickly arrived at my home 7 days max. My ********* order was DEAD LAST. Had I not sent about 3-4 emails I'm not sure if I would have ever received it. the worst part is that I got an email confirmation saying that it shipped, but I assure you, it had NOT... The fedex tracking shows about a 7 day delay between the day I payed and the day the ordered was even picked up.

    The Good
The front component speakers sound excellent, and the baffles are very nice.
Front install was easy ( except for running new speaker wire through door grommet which was a massive bitch.

    Overall
I think they have good products. But the customer service and questionable logistics makes it risky when there are other known options out there. For smaller orders and ones that aren't critical to your setup I'd maybe give 'em another shot. But for expensive or really important parts I'd go elsewhere.

As far as the taco model, I would hook up with her, but not marry her. This is the 1 area where taco tunes beats Mr Marv... ********* Models are hotter than Marv :)

They did email me back kind of, but overall I give the entire process a "D+", a good product keeps this from being an "F". A simple note on their website saying "due to backorders, please expect a delay" would solve many problems. If "high volume" is not the problem then their Cust Service truly is horse shiz.... But I am serious to tell you that I love the what I bought and finally received from them...

With that Said... I have placed an order for a custom sub enclosure from Marv. I did it because I consider this a 'critical part' of my build therefore removing ********* from consideration.
My expectations are that it will 'take a while' but I know that up front and Marv was clear about this.

Looks like my order arrived today!!! :):) Everything is good to go right?

    NO!!! :(:(

Once again order incomplete.:eek: Dashkit arrived but RCA cables are a NOSHOW.:confused:

Order sent incomplete not once but twice. I sent Rob ANOTHER email and told him to either refund my $$$ or make the shipment, unless he sends me an empty box they have to get it right. Right?

I really don't know what else to say.
